  1. had my boat been ready I would be fishing whitefish today on simcoe
  2. you are right Wayne, but I can show you the law that states you can not ride on a trailer behind a car or truck but I can't find anything about atvs, we know you can ride in a sled/trailer behind a snowmobile..they sell them, we used to own one..but atv it's not a car it's not a snowmobile..so who knows????
  3. wish I could get out on the ice I'm chicken, I need thicker ice before I get back out
  4. yeah, I asked or stated just about the same thing up a few posts and I can not find anywhere in the law where it states that if I have people on my trailer being towed by my atv, that they need helmets or if I can have them in my trailer going down the road...seems to be a gray area
  5. well said, headhunter "Sadly, this discussion has been going on now for the last three groups of owners, Ballard, " I clearly remember waiting for the day Ballard was out of the picture because we all knew the leafs would be on top again once that was gone...... but nothing changed........ and I still don't think anything will change maybe if Newmarket could get a team, we could all support them instead.. we do have another Ontario team, but everyone west of Smithfalls wants to hates them
  6. well every town can set their own rules now on atv road access in Bradford you can not ride an atv on the road or along the side of the road but a snowmobile is no problem
  7. yes on the road no Passengers is the law, even the 2 up machines no passenges....but it seems if you are not breaking out laws at the same time, they let it slide.... but my understanding is offroad including ice you can have two people on them.. must have helmets what I can find is, if I have a trailer behind a atv can I have people on the trailer and do they need helmets
  8. we cover the Bog too there's no place like home and OFC is home
  9. well myself, at times when I am fishing for small pickeral, I use my 8' TDR rod and a snap swivel and hook it on the planer board and stick it in the front rod holder then I use my light action spinning rod and reel and lightly clip it on the planer board and put it in the back rod holder or even hang on to it... yes I use the 8' TDR rod and reel as a planer board mast on inline planer boards...... it's a little more work, but it make catching small pickeral a lot more fun I just don't enjoy dragging in something that comes in like a wet sock or less with the heavy duty rod and reels
  10. very cool pics
  11. Roy now that's funny
  12. that is not a Brookie that is Brookzilla !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. that wa why beyond spamming, but he needs to do lots of time and internet crimes need to be dealt with a big hammer
  14. out for 45 min. yesterday good today
  15. well I am thinking differently then the other guys I think you are fishing the eating size spring pickeral not the fall trophy walleye I would go lighter, you might not want it as light as what you use other years in the spring but with those heavy rods, you will not even fell the fish, and no fight reeling in but the heavy one will work year round and if a 50" muskie bites instead of the pickeral, your good to fight her
  16. very nice sounds like you are tuned right into those walleye down there.... if we get more ice I will need to get my butt down there
  17. same thing happening around lake simcoe too
  18. sure you can..when would you like me to bring the boat over... boat may not be as pictured no warranty or guarantees implied sold as is where is no returns... LOL
  19. now don't you start....... you had a great boat........ can get you a good deal on a folding boat
  20. I have gone through the ice and it was nothing like that I don't know if it a true story, but seems more like a a good tale........... I quit reading part way through it but who knows, if some new icefisherman gets a better respect for the uncertainty of ice and mother nature then maybe people should read it
  21. very nice I have been looking at my maps and still can't find lake X

    wind

LOL I was in a fish hut one time that was blown across the lake..scary but on a portable hut sounds like fun

    wind

that's too bad I have heard reports that there are fish huts piling up along some shorelines that have blown in and I am sure many more have headed for open water if the wind gets the ice moving we could loose all of it, I guess Beaverton would end up with all the ice with the wind direction cooks bay may be ok, but it could end up on shore in keswick too

    wind

this morning I thought a snowplow was going by the house, 4 minutes later it was still going by, aI thought to myself, self, there is no snow why would a snowplow be out there I open the front door, which is almost ripped out of my hand the wind rushing by the apartment building down the road made it sound like a jet motor running or a snowplow scrapping ice.... I have heard wind like that for a few seconds but this was constant on the way to work I had to dodge xmas trees and blue boxes and other lovely things flying around...fun WOW I would say the winds were 70 to 90 k and not gusts but constant
  25. real sad I wish I could find out more about what happened if he fell through the pressure crack that always shows up at Roches point I can see that but there wasn't open water near that area but there is lots of water on the ice now and could well be open water...he could well have had a heart attack and was on the ice but by the time he was found he could have been floating on the water on top of the ice.........the report left so many unanswered questions
