  1. WTG Bly. There is a reason "Luck" is known as a "Lady" I will always get beat by the ladies. It used to be my mother who would one up me every year. Now it's my daughter. In the end we're all smiling.
  2. You can be the best guide around, but bush smarts don't hold a candle to book smarts in today's world. Get your education while you can.
  3. We won't feel a thing if the worst happens.
  4. Stop in at the tackle shop on #69. The proprietor also owns a small lodge on the bay. He is always very helpful. Like said before, lots of pike, but don't overlook the bass.
  5. Great report. I just love hitting a lake for the first time and successfully picking it apart.
  6. Those differences have affected every body of water. I've found slowing down the presentation or downsizing have been key to consistent results.
  7. Fine, be that way! JWL and I are both green with envy. Loved fishing below the dam.
  8. Some absolutely breathtaking pics of the scenery. Thank you
  9. An interesting, if not comical read. Some nice fish there to atone for your misfortunes. All I can think of is "Heeey Yaabbaaaat"
  10. That's why I use the snaps. By the way, I found something real good to add to the "roadkill" chilli
  11. IT's the closest thing to a "rutting" season for the human male
  12. I concur. You forgot about fingers seized up with arthritis. I used to hand the line and lure to my son to tie. He's not around too much now when I'm fishing.
  13. The 6 ft Ugly Stick will do just fine for bigger pike. I only use 14-20lb lines and no leader.
  14. Good report. You presented sone neat information and was easy to read.
  15. I'm still trying to find a way to feed those emissions into the motor Never have to buy gas again. Especially after 2 bowls of "roadkill" chilli
  16. I would suggest you hit a textbook or two, and other source materials, for the more suitable answers rather than relying on an open forum. That is why it is called research
  17. Wonderful report. Seems Bly really knows how to 'git er dun' with the muskies
  18. Great report. You win some and lose some, but the fight will be remembered. Sure beats flippin burgers and listening to soccer moms all day
  19. MY GOD!!!!!!! An honest angler How rare is that We all get it wrong some days. We just try to come up with lots of excuses first.
  20. That's where the cell phone and the TIPS line come in handy. No confrontation, just call if the law is being broken. There is no need for any redneck antics. Let the authorities do their job.
  21. Berkeley cross loks, coast loks, Mustad snaps are all pretty good. I use them a lot piking with a 30lb snap. 40lb if I'm making wire leaders.
  22. I'm having fresh dug tatties fried with my fish tonight. Nothing like the simpler pleasures in life
  23. Beautiful pics. Thank you
  24. I lived in Toronto in the 70's and 80's The Don, at that time was a festering sewer. Along the banks of the lower Don there used to exist heavy industry, soap factories, brick works, etc.. The lower was a dead river. In the 70's the river was so toxic that mere contact with the water would get you sick. It was years before anybody would even consider doing a shoreline cleanup. DO they still dump road snow below the Bloor Viaduct? I used to work for the cemetaries. Pine Hills had a beautiful nature trail along the East Don. Yes we occasionaly spotted trout. The portion north of Hog's Hollow used to be absolutely beautiful. York cemetary backs onto the valley. I've fished there as well. I only remember big chubs back then. Small trout in the upper portions of Black Creek befor Vaughan was turned into a giant strip mall. People used to think I was strange fishing the Ross Lord reservoir. That was over20 years ago.
  25. Hey Holdfast, getting pinched by the MP's was always better than getting caught thieving by your messmates. Barracks law is anything but pretty.
