  1. Tonight we celebrated my little George's 2nd birthday, We tried something other than the usual fish fry . We opted for fish tacos (chicken for the one uncultured barbarian in our clan who will not eat fish). Crappies and bluegill fillets lightly floured with garnishes of lettuce, mixed peppers, tomato, shredded cheeses, sour cream and salsa. Not a scrap of fish or chicken leftover either.
  2. Living the dream with your boy. Gotta love it.
  3. A good alternative would be L Dalrymple. Roughly same distance and a lot fewer obstacles to navigate with good panfish. The resort on the west shore rents daily boats and were not pricey last time up
  4. Sorry to hear about the truck, but very glad you can tell the tale. Most collisions with heavy vehicles have a more severe outcome
  5. In the forecast every day for at least another week. When the ground dries I'll be planting by the light of the moon.
  6. It's 2 in the morning and here I sit reading up on a few fishing reports on the forum. Great time to read up on the "Moosebunk:, Misfish" and "Freshtrax" while I finish boiling up the last few jars of pickles. Started brining the cukes back at 6:30 yesterday morning. Spent the rest of the day bulk casting jigs. Once the last jars are done I'll be back in the workshop trimming the new jigs.
  7. Nice whities. There is no "proper" way to hold a fishing rod, just the right way. Whatever feels "Right" for you
  8. That's a fine looking fish.
  9. Last coated metal roof I did was 25 years ago, fastened straight to wood, no strapping. Still does not leak.
  10. Can't work the ground while it is saturated. Got in 5 rows of peppers in the last week, but now I go back to waiting
  11. Living the dream.
  12. Photobucket is no longer user friendly, and Picasa has beeb d/c'd
  13. Made the annual trek down to Windsor to partake of the silver bass run on the river. We had a crew of 3 this time, Drove through some wicked storms out by Chatham and got rained on all day. Some parts of the river were just shoulder to shoulder. Sort of reminded me of the good old days of opener on the Ganny. Regardless of all that the fishing was great. Lots of big silvers this spring. By noon the arm felt like it was going to drop off. Mo walleye this time though.
  14. Cutting across the sound in a good west wind can get real dicey
  15. I've stood in the pouring rain, snow, freezing rain more times than I can count, and suffered the consequences on more than one occasion. I think I consider myself wise enough to know better. Of course the weather man could get it partly wrong????
  16. Ifit's wet I'll be fishing somewhere, but if the ground will dry a bit I'll be desperately planting.
  17. They're nothing fancy, really. Painted ball jigs with painted eyes. I am glad you like them Cliff.
  18. Non event so far in St Kitts
  19. I think we are on page 3 of the directory. http://ontariofishingcommunity.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=37871 We have not put up any ads, but have been answering a couple of ISO's in the fishing classified
  20. email sent my friend.
  21. Jordan has a launch at the Beacon. Have no idea what they charge now. In the harbour, the old Campbells marina is now a NPCA park with a passive launch for canoes and kayaks, no motors.
  22. gotta love a good feed of bluegill. Been getting them steady for the past few weeks.
  23. Your best fishing buddies should always be your kids. Just say the magic words and my kids are there in an instant.
  24. Always happy to see your videos. That's why I subscribe.
  25. Looks great. Kind of place I want to run to.
