It's almost time for our annual backwoods lake trout trip and had an idea about salting some minnows and taking them . I would like to take live ones but they would not survive the trip in ( 1 hour atv ride and very rough )also the water that the minnows go in would add some weight that we surely don't need , already tight for space ! Has anyone here ever salted there own minnows with success and could offer some tips ? Thanks

Does anyone know the ice conditions in the inland Parry Sound area ? Might be heading up that way this weekend for a bit of late ice fishing but i'm not too sure. Looks like the Muskoka lakes still have lots of ice so it should be okay a little more north I would think ! Thanks

This is sad story (stories) I can't believe it, well I guess I can with all these crazies around . True SCUM !!!!! I couldn't imagine someone coming onto my property and stealing or trying to steal my dog . It wouldn't be good !!

Lot's of rabbits in my area (Northern Dufferin) Though not as many as the cottontail , jacks are around . I see them late at night hopping around the neighbourhood .Actually when you get closer to them they are not hopping but "flying" they are really quick !!!

Great report Doc ! Gotta love those back lake trout excursions. I have a couple trips like that planned for May .

I wasn't going to make a big deal out of this but on the heels of Solo's gift to Misfish it got me thinking ,that everyone here should know what a great guy Mercman (Paul) is. A couple months ago I posted on the network that I was in search for a fishfinder , well wouldn't you know it I got a PM the next day from Mercman telling me he had an extra finder and I could have it ! Well I promptly sent him a PM back saying you mean "FREE" and he replied yes "FREE" I won't get into details about the model but just to say its not a cheap unit that's for sure . He even sent it to my door from Quebec for nothing. I hope everyone here realizes what a great bunch of people we have on this fourm and as well as what a generous person Paul is !!! There could be one problem with the opener happening a bit earlier and that the lakes in the north part of algonquin could be still iced over especially this year with the weather we have had !

Has anyone here used this product yet and if so what did you think of it ? Does it compare to berkley gulp or is it better ? I have heard it is better then gulp but who knows !!! I like the look of the trigger x walleye minnow , could be good for lakers this soft water season. Thanks

A quick question for the gang here regarding these little worms found stuck to the side of lake trout. I have seen it before in pictures and last week I caught a small laker and it had these little worms stuck to it . They kinda looked like leeches but I don't think they were, they were more worm like . Of course I picked them off the little guy and released him . Any ideas what these are ?

I was in that area this past weekend , lots of ice (12"-14") but slush was a definate problem in spots !

Like the video and nice lakers ! Was out today and didn't get anything but a couple hits . Lots of followers but they wouldn't strike. What size tube is that , it looks smaller then the ones I was using which were 4"

Fishing Depot had some as of last week , Don't remember the sizes though !
