Nice report , those lake trout sure are dark

My Suzuki's are older so no power steering but I wish they had . Pretty well all the trails to my backwoods fishing spots are rough with a lot of rock , mud and the odd small tree but after riding these trails I feel like I have been beatin up pretty good especially that ride back after a weekend of fishing. You really feel it in the arms and shoulders ! So if I were you I would definitely spring for the power steering , you will thank us later and really over the term it is a small price to pay for " trail luxury" Good luck on your choices , you really can't go wrong with either of them and as well perfect CC's . Not to big, not to small

Snowing a bit here as well Lew !
-
So sorry to hear this , very sad thing to do .
-
Yamaha , Suzuki and Honda would be my choices . Own suzuki's now with a lot of hard miles on them with no problems !
-
Nice , like the back lake reports . That fish looks delicious
-
Nice report , not bad specks either

I'm truly sorry for your loss Lew . The family dog does become part of you and when that day comes when you have to say goodbye is for sure one of the toughest things to do . I have been there before as well and time does heal , but it sure was a long time !
-
Try washing your hands with shaving cream , works for me !
-
That's great Lew , wish you luck on finding them . Might be a bit easier just after the snow melts though . That buck looks like a real hell raiser by looking at those tines I am always on the lookout for sheds come the spring , cut the small ones up and give them to the dog . She loves them !

So what tent did you choose out of the Eureka line up ? I might be getting a new one in the spring.

I have never caught a lake trout in Simcoe but many else where and I can tell you that they will eat anything when they are hungry . I have caught them with perch , sunfish , rock bass and even smaller lake trout in there gullets . I read an article in a fishing mag. a little while ago and they wrote about a laker that was caught and it was full of rubber worms and senkos and they even had a picture of it

Wow Bill that's a beast , congrats Glad to hear you let her go !
-
You are right Bill , I forgot about those ones !

Ya I guess a snow fence would work at keeping the drifting down a bit but I really like the idea of the tree's . One initial pay out on product and labour and your done for the next 100 years . That's funny that you helped with those trees around O"ville and Shelburne , good job ! You should see the size of the drifts on the leeward side of those trees on #10

Great video's there , Drifter -
I always thought about why they don't put up snow fences around here . Well , during a winter like we have been having the last couple years they would work but I can tell you this year it would be a waste of time . The drifts around here (#89 and Airport rd) are massive , you would need 10 ft snow fences ! I do know that in some problem areas around here the county has actually planted trees to provide a "living snow fence" some good examples of this is hwy 10 , north of Orangeville . Great idea and it works ! Wish they would do that up my way . Oh and by the way still snowed in, all roads around me are still closed
-
Alright then Irish , twist my arm Actually all the roads around me are closed so if it stays the same I guess I will be blowing/plowing snow tomorrow and maybe having a beer !
-
Just read plows are pulled off roads in Mulmur Township until first light at the earliest ! Wondering if I will be going into work tomorrow afternoon .
-
If anyone plans to be driving up this way may I suggest you don't . Lots of road closures and the county cannot keep up with the massive drifts over some of the roads . Just came back from O ville and there are some drifts on my local road that are 10 ft high and 1/2 way across the road . Be careful out there !
-
I liked it , I would watch it as well
-
Great report , You are very lucky to have that type of a resource right in your "back yard"

Ouch! Propane Heating Cost in the Kawartha's
4x4bassin replied to manjo39's topic in General Discussion
Had my propane tank filled last week and according to my previous 5 year schedule I'm burning it up a lot faster this winter (usually fill first week of Feb.) I am lucky though , my contract price is only 54 cents/L . Not looking forward to the next contract though
