  1. Nice Wayne ... and remind me why you ARE'NT out there pullin on of those this wekend ???? Its Fantabulous !!! (Just sayin)
  2. Tabernack Roy I was just getting the sea-foam out for the shredding machines ... so we'd have plenty of confetti on hand for the parade
  3. A very Sad day indeed. I have been in IT for almost exactly as long as he was ... and I can say first hand that he was an amazing guy and his vision was an inspiration to many. His commitment to that vision despite all odds against him ... he single handedly gave some of the worlds biggest players many sleepless nights as he turned the technology paradigm on its head more than once. He was definitely One of the "few".
  4. Just get a sim card here and you'll be good to go
  5. Come on ! .. don't make me post the video tooo
  6. Here's a little reminder .... for those who could barely see the picture http://ftp.kifinti.com/~jon/henderson%2072.wav
  7. Three Mile is good for Bass and Walleye ... so you got it covered ... if you do find out about the 'Speck lakes' and need company PM me ... I am not far from there and definitely willing to bishwack a wee bit
  8. Wow 66 feet in length !!!! ... And I gotta admit I cant believe how 'suburban' Yellowknife .. er Whitehorse.. is looking these days ... having said that ... looks like a decent boat for the price (if it were cash n carry)
  9. Might consider a black woolley buggar ... or a micky finn as well ... with just a teaser of worm (to sweaten the offering)
  10. I do ... but it makes my pee smell
  11. Hwy 2 to lake ... open until Dec 31 ! (Most tribs) ... and come on fellas .. lets call it like it is ... inside the mouth is legal and fair ... (as long as you dont force it in there) - I dont remember see anything in the regs that says the fish has to want to actually eat it .... MANY fish get caught ONLY because they just want to KEEEEEL it !
  12. Jeeze if I knew that using minners would make my shlang bigger .. I'd a started years ago ... oh wait ... I only use minners !!!!!
  13. BTW ... some MONSTERS lurking in there .. saw a 25+lb Laker hanging from the scales at Glen Orchard last year when I went in to weigh my 9lber
  14. Don't need a downrigger ... just put a one or two ounce weight hanging about 18" off a three way swivel and run about a 6 foot lead back to a white or silver flutter spoon (mooselook or similar) ... and have fun !!! Lakers closed on Joe until Feb 15th (after next week) ... but opens again on Rosseau on Jan 1st
  15. went snorkelling a few times this summer and came back with a handful of plastics that were conspicuously lying on bottom ... long after the hooks had rusted out. Caught a 5lb laker in thye hardwater season .. and along with about 5 minnows in her belly was a 6" Senko - partially digested ... Just sayin
  16. Sorry for your loss. Glad you got some quality time (and fish)
  17. Thanks for the report ! I am planning a fishing trip there this fall. (Not sure where exactly as we are staying with friends)... but it looks like quite an adventure !
  18. Wow ! For years I have been buying a licence for both me an the mrs's ... (as have all the couples in our annual Quebec-Zec party) ... bummer ... Joey do you have anything official looking that I can show them at the licence store next year to save a few bucks on this ? Thanks J.
  19. May also trying a cast and fast retrieve (just before hitting bottom) with a big flashy spoon and a little 'teaser' mister-twister tail (I like silver spoon with yellow tail on a sunny day) ... 4" Johnson silver minnow with a double twister tail and a trailer-hook works like a charm for those near misses...SHARPEN YOUR HOOKS REGULARLY !
  20. Fabulous news Wayne, you and Jenn are an inspiration to us all. I have a feeling there's a 50+ waitin for her out on the bay somewhere
  21. Atta boy ... better call BJ's ... I thinks we haves another convert
  22. I agree with the Dartees (although white is my go to colour ... the KEY though is action ... check your trolling speed and tune (bend) the lure and adjust your speed until you get most erratic flutter ... and then .. change speeds and zig-zag often .. lakers are followers ... they will hang around behind your lure all day .. but a sudden flutter (casued by a speed change or a turn) very often triggers a strike. Good luck and dont forget your camera.
  23. Great work .. glad to see the hogs are still out there on one of my favourite lakes !
  24. Sounds like the fire is still burning bright Cliff ! Great report .. boy does that ever bring back memories for me ... when I used to keep my boat at Harbour Port marine in Port Credit and jump in my boat for a few hours of riggin on the way home from Oakville ... back then it was more Coho thank Chinnies ... but they all put up some great action ... and you cant beat a calm cool morning for getting close to your maker ! Thanks for the report ! J.
