  1. Heh ... aint it the truth ... shoulda been here yesterday ... or tomorrow ... cant tell ya how many fish got caught on the 'just one more cast before we go" method But seriously .. stay away from them bubblers ... it can all go terribly wrong really fast .. no joke
  2. Bring it on

  4. Love it ! Thanks for sharing .. just when I was getting over the hardwater season ... and gettin ready for ice out specks ... one of these days I'll find me a little back woods lake like that within 5 hours of the big smoke
  5. Nice job all round Dan ! I always knew you had a knack with the camera, but those are some great shots especially the one with the puck at the back of the twine ! Now ... get back up there and start sending us those golden shots of Nipigon Specks !!!
  6. ahhhh yes the zanzibar ... back in the days you could get 3 dances for less than the price of one jointed rapala :)

  7. Ahhh the ol Penn 309 ... my absolute favourite trolling reel .. indestructable and totally reliable .... done
  8. Well ... lets just say ... I can walk there .... but I don't
  9. Ahhhh the good old days when the taller fellas could wade right out until they were amidst the boats and Splake ....but that was almost 30 years ago now ... before the eastern tribs were gold
  10. So .... If I decide to head East tomorrow .. does this mean I have it ALLLLLLL to myself ?
  11. No .... this is the time to think of chrome and Specks ... pretty sure Bass is when the FROST is OFF the punkin OK .. wait .. let me get this straight ...When the weather is hot and sticky ... THATS no time for dunnkin dicky ! But when the FROST is on the PuNKIN .. THATS the time for .. ahhhh never mind.
  12. Of course ... forgot to mention (much to the horror of Mrs camillj) ... we saw a BIG FAT hawk in the crook of a maple about 10 feet above our deck .. right where (shall we call her 'tubbo' (misty) the cat sits on her mid-afternoon sun-bathing session .... eeeks ... me thinks misty will be sunbathing inside and mr. floppy-ears is gone to the bufetteria so to speak
  13. okey ... just a little toooo much information
  14. Actually I was only joking .. it could be an Atlantic .. but in that colour phase you really need to be counting pyloric cecae to know for sure ... and by then a live release is kinda out of the question
  15. oh yessssssss ... What an greattttttt game for Dan to be at ... Dannny ol'Boy ... you realize that NOW you HAVE to go to ALLLL the rest of our games since you are our new good luck charm
  16. Alright .. Alright .. I just went out with a Camus XO to admire the sooooooooo raaaaaaaaare occurence of the perigrine mooonie .... to be honest she was almost as bright as you could want ..... but not nearly as big as I expected ... oh wait .. that's what SHE said
  17. Funny you should ask .. heh .. was raking the front yard yesterday .. and didnt I find about 3 lbs of FRESH looking pellets in a little bush RIGHT OUTSIDE my front door !!!! I guess the little darlin sat there through most of the winter watchin us come and go .. smiling at us ... never ONCE saw the little varmint all winter .. gone for good now almost certainly
  18. Nice .. looks like an Atlantic to me
  19. Wayne .. what kinda talk is that !!!
  20. Dont believe it does Art (its pull start not electric) ... '70's or '80's vintage seahorse ... is this something that could be added ? hmmm ... google here I come ... good point, I would think that would be the best bet to charge the battery during trolling
  21. ok .. so here's a twist on the same question ... If I normally troll ALL day on a 9.9 seahorse... but would like a n electric trolling motor for finesse in the back bays (17' heavy fiberglass boat) .. small lake (about 3.5 square miles) ... in a ZEC where we have NO electricity to recharge the battery ... what would you recommend ? (motor and battery) for a 3 - 4 day trip... needs to be relatively easy to mount/stow away. (not sure if bow or stern is better .. I personally would opt for stern...since I drive while 'he' sleeps
  22. Nope but we used to wade for pickeral right in the heart of Lindsay (bout 35 years ago) ... yellow bucktails and blue jointed rapalas were the thing back then.
  23. First full moon used to mean a lonnnnnnng run up to de-swiss-shaw (not sure how you really spell it) ... anyhow it was like the right of passage for monster pickerel.
  24. Heh .. got y'all beat ... I was 22 when I was born
