Yeah, I also was going to say, young Brendan looks totally competent. Looks like a memorable trip for everybody involved, and a tough one to top, very cool!
Oh yeah,
I can't read the small print to be sure it's what I think it is, but I've got an Imperial shirt in yellow. Imperial is a little harsh but those tie dyed, hippie sunsets in Mal Pais blew my mind.
I don't use these and haven't seen anyone use one. Just curious, why would you need 5 or 12? Do they degrade quickly or is it to colour coordinate your outfit for the day so you look fancy?
Smaller boats are generally safer than bigger boats? That makes no sense to me.
Sounds like waves weren't a factor, the guy tipped somehow. Small boats are easy to tip.
I'm glad he's ok but that's his job. That's what he signed up for and knew the risks.
That's my point. Getting thieves and thugs off the street (like he was doing) is more important than harassing people checking if their whistle is pealess or not.
I don't hate cops or authority. Like I said before, go after the real criminals, not the good people having fun.
Damn, my whistle isn't pealess.
I also pack enough freeze dried rations to sustain myself for 3 years and have my loaded 12 gauge within reach at all times. Cottage country is dangerous country.
If it's the same one we had, it was as light as a canoe but it would catch wind like a sail. It had a wimpy transom with 1/4" plywood. I think I remember it was conservatively rated for 5 hp max. 15 hp would be fun to try on a calm day but not for regular use.
We had one. My Dad said he bought it new. It was advertised as a "99 pound boat for $99" or something like that.
9.9 four stroke would be way too heavy. A 6 or 8 two stroke would be better.
Is it just me, or do other people not want a Chinese explosive device in front of them to supposedly protect them or their passengers? Recall or not.
Over- regulation and a global economy.
I've got a crappy, wannabe truck and a baby in a car seat and I can't disable the airbags. I didn't have the option for the airbags in the first place.
I didn't read this until now because from the topic title I thought it was something I wouldn't be interested in. After reading it-
I'm another well wisher Rick and happy to hear things are looking good. Scary for sure, but a good news story in the end.
I tend to stay away from the busy areas because of the stuff Shawn's talking about. No use going fishing to get ticked off or frustrated.
If we have trouble, it's usually over private property or land use, Haha
What was the surface temp if you guys remember?
I was out Thursday, mid day, cool, clear day, and couldn't find them. Just pike and bass. Water was 58 to 60 degrees and frost overnight the night before.
Last year on the Attawapiskat during the mayfly hatch, the windward, deep shores was the ticket. Boat control for the guy on the tiller was a nightmare, but that's where the fish where so that's what we had to do.
