Frankenfish a.k.a. snakefish invading North American waters
canadadude replied to motion's topic in General Discussion
I know what your saying, I had a 28" snakehead and by far the most aggresive fish I ever owned.Pirranahs, ciclids and such are babies compared to these fish, snakeheads are just plane insane, I kept mine in 120 gal tank and when he got pissed he smash the side of that tank, the only way to calm him down was dump in 20 feeder goldfish hahahhaahah -
Thats the sweetest ride I've seen ever on any web site. Congrats, I just keep looking at the pics and drooling on my keyboard hahahahhaha

I think you may want to look at Bob Rae and the N.D.P government for spending,Harris cut the wellfare in this province in 1/2 I'm a conservative for the simple fact that they don't lie as much as the Fiberals. They tell me I'm getting screwed where the fiberals lie and then screw me twice as bad. Don't worry the Fiberals will get back in again, they've lied to the Ontario pubic every election and still Ontarians seem to love this crap. It's actually gotten quite comical how Mc guinty keeps getting reelected we're all just a bunch of sheep in this province and Mc guinty shears us on a regualar basis

Is that wip-lash, I had a CAA tow truck rear end me at like 5mph at a stop light and I felt the same affects as you.He hit my trailer hitch so there was no damage so I didn't report it but I was sore for a few days after that.It seems a sudden jolt like that snaps your head forward causing the so called wip-lash,I didn't really feel to bad untill a few hours later and it got progressivly worse as time went on. I was much better after a couple of days but ya I feel your pain, take it easy hopfully it will pass soon.

Used them on the inboards, Diesal motors never thought they would be needed on a 2 stroke outboard,I think that maybe overkill you should be ok with a good stabalizer

Did Toronado's close everthing or just the fly-in portion of the business,I use to quad into alot of there bass lakes from Lost Channel, excellent smallmouth fishing in those areas.A few of my buddies up there also would use them for Deer hunting.

They look nice, however when I use flash I find alittle goes along way. I prefer to use bucktail and only use a few strands of flash to enhance the bait.I'm not a big fan of to much flash unless I'm tying Twinkle flies for Salmon fish'in Anyway I'd be interested to see how they work, you may be on to somthing. They gotta cost a bit using that much flash

Back in the 80's I had a 5 lb snakehead in a 200gal aquarium, while cleaning the tank it jumped out and took me over an hr to find, it flipped under the bed. I thought that was it but I tossed it back in the tank and way it went on it's business. It was a mean freaking fish, I fed it creek chub I got in the creeks couldn't afford to give it feeder gold fish. That one should of been killed, I guess some people respect the enviroment more then others.I wouldn't think the native species in that watershed think the snakeheads are alot of FUN

I didn't relise that motor had 3 carbs,so if you clean them and put in new carb kits your looking at $120-$150 just in parts, plus $40 for a head gasket so perhaps the $500 price tag isn't that far off If the mechanic is good he's going to reassemble the carburators with a carb kit, your looking at close to $200 in parts alone Parts have gone up substantally since I've played around with outboards

My brother is a liscenced marine mechanic and yes he severed his apprenticeship and he has $40,000 worth of tools( he's a tool junkie)He's been doing his job for 20yrs,but he dosn't rip off the public.$500 is way to much for the amount of work done here. Any decent mechanic could have done the work in 2.5 hrs shop time at $90.00 an hour. Changing the head gasket is realativly easy and cleaning the carburator is no big deal on these motors. For $500 you could have bolted on a brand new carb, a brand new head and a new gasket and pulling the fly weel off these motors is easy, I don't understand another $400 and change. I think your mechanic has hooked himself a live one

auto stop for big jon downrigger
canadadude replied to west lake charlie's topic in General Discussion
Then the breaker pops, so if you can't get it back down reset the breaker beside the up/down switch The other problem is you can snap cannonballs off with this method in rough seas, or snap the front pulley off the rod, it's tough on the downrigger running the ball into the top pulley -
Nothing like Muskie fish'in with a big box of Chipmunks hehehehehehehe

auto stop for big jon downrigger
canadadude replied to west lake charlie's topic in General Discussion
I use to fish with auto-stops on the charter boat and they were crap,it's like 50/50 chance the rigger will auto stop. It's a crappy design a plastic tube has to hit a small micro switch to stop the rigger, problem is the tube gets stuck on the front pulley and never makes it to the switch or the tube never has enough force to engage the little switch. They worked great for about 2 trips then they became a pain in bum and were disconected quickly. The switch would also stick and when you went to put the rigger down . -
North end of Onaping lake is pretty sweet, bit of a boat ride in but lots of walleye and some nice pike, central section of the lake is good for Lakers.

Thats a sweet spread, I'd hate to turn it hahahaha
