Lawsuit time. 100 billion dollars (in my best dr. evil accent) -
The US media created this idea that there are huge lineups. There are lineups, but for the most part those who need care right away get it.

what a great thread! I often cook fish in a frying pan with a 1/4 inch of white wine. The white wine provides the heat transfer (in place of oil or poaching in water) but it dries down and the fish still has a crispness (vs. being poached). Most fish tastes great wtih white wine, and its healthier than oil.

Guaranteed healthcare doesn't mean everyone is mandated to use it. Some say you can measure a society by how they take care of their weak. Doesn't mean you have to force everyone to use it.

Restoule is awesome (great park, fantastic people, great lake and scenery) but don't set your heart on great fishing. It can be *on* sometimes, but for the most part its tough fishing. Its a great trip (esp for family) but frustrates a lot of fishermen. You can almost always get smallmouth bass. Pickerel are hit and miss (depends on timing) Lakers and whiteys are deep Musky are there but super tough (more like georgian bay vs. kawarthas fishery)

Since i was 16 yrs old have always owned GM cars. My wife has a toyota. Having seen how durable its been i can say that i'll likely never buy a domestic again. BIG difference btwn the two. I also have a few friends who work for Honda in Alliston, so to me it doesn't feel like i am sending my $$ overseas.

Why walk around with that much cash anyway? Just do a bank draft or certified cheque. You don't want to pay an inflated price because they have to pass 2% on to visa.
-
carcostcanada.com. Sign up and you'll knwo the difference btwn their invoice price and MSRP. Find a way to pay through your bank instead of a visa card...and you may h ave a deal.

I wish the Canadian Gov't could sue the US Gov't to ensure the canal is closed.....there is no way a Chicago-bred President is going to close the canal unless there's a massive financial penalty associated with not doing it.

i quite frankly am terrified for what will happen when they get here. Unlike zebra mussels and purple loosetrife, these critters have demonstrated the ability to wipe out an ecosystem.

Algonquin Park, access point 17 into crotch/shall/booth lakes. Its canoe-in sites but you don't have to be more than 15-20 mins from your car. Good smb and pike fishing. Lakers if you go early (or deep later in the year). Outfitter right at the entrance called alonquin outfitters or something. You can google it.

ahh....i totally get that. Sorry. And yes - great advice. Thought you meant to hit in the back of the head (where if you catch the spot btwn the neck and skull the right way you can kill or permanently debilitate someone).
-
If you want to risk killing someone or seriously injuring their brain, then yes -- aim for the back of the head where the brain stem is most exposed. Sounds to me like the OPs 16 yr old son is getting picked on by bullies. Eye gouging, ball kicking, and hitting in the back of the head probably makes sense if he fears for his life. If its just getting picked on by a bully at school, i'd say best to do is make fun of the bully (in a way that he's embarassed to pick on you) and/or just stand up for yourself. Punch him in the nose. Most bullies like to pick on people who won't push back. Kicking people in the balls and gouging eyes is a one way trip to being made fun of even more.

Glad the crusade worked out for you, and that CT isn't an evil empire after all.
-
curious - how much does that outfit weigh?
-
Looks like a great set up, and that's an awesome price. Good on you. I think CTC is great. Sure you come across the odd person having a bad day, but overall its a pretty fantastic store. One of the few canadian stores that can effectively compete at the "big box" level, and i think a lot of that has to do with how they treat customers.

how old would that be? i assume carp are long-lived.

Lots of lead in toronto.....at least in some neighbourhoods. I don't mean solder. The pipes coming up from the main into the house.
-
We use the big bottles Cliff. They're glass though -- i'm not a fan of plastic. We use them here (in oakville, and previously toronto) because we don't like the lake water and have a little one in the house. For my own use, not really that worried about it. And, when we're away from Lake O we just use tap water. And Rick... ...probably not needed in most places but there's lots of lead in toronto water, depending on the neighbourhood you're in of course.
