Great report and real nice pics as well! Thanks

Nanook, Layzee Acres has not had cabins for a long , long time now. They do however rent the odd trailer out that is already set-up on a site. Even this though, is only on the rare occasion. The launch ramp is excellent and they have 3 or 4 real nice boats that they rent out with 9.9 hp. Honda 4 stroke engines. Campsites are always available too. Lake Dalrymple Resort is your best (and only) bet for a cabin. Hazel, Gayle, and Cal are good folks and run a nice operation. Their boat rentals are only 6 h.p. Suzuki engines though. Meadows End Campground is good also, but I think they have pretty much eliminated all their old white cabins as well. Good luck!

Happy New Year to your family as well Lew. Best wishes to all for 2007! Happy New Year everyone!

Some real nice fat Pike there! way to go!

Like Terry says, easy enough to make....but kind of scarey. I don't know that they are legal in Canada though. It wouldn't take much to overfill the small cans. They do have a pressure relief of sorts, but hydrostatic pressure is not something to mess around with. Just be careful, and don't fill beyond 80% of the stated capacity on the can.

I'm a HVAC/R mechanic by trade doing commercial and Industrial work for over 25 years. I'm currently managing a department of Technicians that service laboratory and scientific equipment and instruments. My hobby job for the past 13 years is part-time teaching apprentices in night school. Ahhh....looking forward to retirement!

Nice work Jim! Just a word of warning though.......do you have any idea what kind of damage you could be doing to your fore arms when those baits suddenly stop very abruptly and tear off in the opposite direction while you are retrieving them? Don't do it! Just leave 'em in your box and all will be good!

Great news Joyce! Glad to see you back here posting and enjoying life.

Beautiful looking fish as always CC. Thanks for the post!

My Daughters have iPods, and all the mp3's from Limewire have to be converted to itunes. Bit of a pain, but still better than a buck a tune. My mp3 player just plays the regular old mp3 files directly, which I get through limewire. I can see paying, but a buck a tune is a bit steep. Afterall, they are not supplying covers, jacket liners, or even the discs themselves. You are supplying the labour. Am I missing something here?

Rick, I have the handheld Garmin Vista C and it works very well both in the car, and in the boat. To be honest, for the lake I fish, I've got more use out oif it in the car when travelling! LOL

Priceless Cliff! Thanks for sharing that with us!

Our tradition is Chinese food with Family and Friends. Played a game of darts and watched "A Christmas Story". Just had some snacks and saw our Friends off with a sack or two of gifts! That's it for the night now.....just the last minute rituals and hope to be in bed by 1 am!!!! Aaaah.....bring it on! Hope everyone has a great day tomorrow!

Great report CC! Can't imagine a better way to spend this beautiful day than what you were doing!! I was at the grocery store drooling over the trout swimming in the tank at the seafood counter!!! LOL I told my wife that I would love to find a lake with some fish like that for ice fishing. Would be a real treat!

I can honestly say that I've never had to do that. My Wife and Daughters put up with and support my passion for "all things to do with fish"! We decorate the tree with lures and fishing related items, we decorate most of the house with fishing related stuff, and they always get me stuff I really like and want, to do with fishing. Of course it works both ways too. We communicate a great deal on what it is we like and need. Works very well for us! Most of the year, we put off buying everyday things on a weekly basis.....then go absolutely nuts at this time of year. The girls are growing up now ( 15, 20 , and 23).....but on this day, we are like a bunch of 5 year olds! LOL Great fun! Tomorrow will be no different!

Thanks Dan, for posting the link. Welcome Al! Very enjoyable slideshow indeed!

Always good to see you too Roger. It was nice to just stop in and take a wander around without any particular purpose. Shopping is done and just waiting for the big day. Santa was having a good time at the front entrance as usual. Now there is a job I could handle! LOL

Merry Christmas Roy! I always enjoy seeing the pics of your party each year. Well done!

A belated Birthday wish from me too! Hope you had a great day TJ!

Tom, I always thought you lived here in Ontario like a lot of us..... but your report clearly depicts a trip to some foreign land where the water actually freezes over? LOL Looks like you had a nice day and a few nice fish to top it off. Thanks for a peek at what we can only dream about. Hope you are feeling better real soon as well.

Yes, congrats on the great news that he is home to see his first born come into the world. Nothing quite like it! A true gift in more ways than one! Please pass along our thanks to him as well! We owe those men and women a ton of gratitude for what they do!
