  1. Oh my stupid. That is gross. nice fish for sure!
  2. Nice
  3. Plasti dip is too expensive for large areas as you need to do 4 coats. Lots of pickup trucks in fort Mac are either half bedliner or full bedliner on all body panels. I have seen the whole truck painted in bedliner a few times. It works very well but adds some weight to the vehicle. IT is pretty common practice up there
  4. A very ugly letter for sure. I read it last night. A part of me really hopes it is not a true letter but something tells me it is. As I was reading it I was doing so thinking it was written by a man. I was very surprised to see it was a woman's letter. Not cool at all.
  5. nice fish too bad the pic is a selfie
  6. nice Rob
  7. Agree. (I would also add perch to that list)
  8. I made a bracket from hardware plumbing parts. Cost me $2.50 and it virtually eliminates the chance of it coming unstuck. The old guy at Rocky's loved it. He could not believe something so simple worked so well.
  9. About 27 years ago when I was in grade 9 I remember reading an old book on Simcoe. At one time in the lakes life there were salmon in it. I think they were stocked Atlantics way back. I might be wrong and they may have been pacific salmon. Either way, it has already been tried. I looked at that little book about a thousand times throughout my high school days. I also remember seeing a pic in that book of a burbot that was caught in Simcoe and they slit the belly open to reveal something like 20 perch inside.
  10. cool. love that colour
  11. Got out today. Was going to fish lakers but it was too rough (had the kids with me). Went to the shore and caught a couple little bass and perch. Still nice to be out on the water. OPP stopped by and did the most thorough check ever. At one point I thought he was going to get his rubber glove out I had all the documents and equipment. He made me move my lifejackets so they were visible. I had 3 flashlights and 2 whistles but one of my whistles was not peeless so it failed. He gave me more fox40s so that was good.
  12. WOW! NIce fish . Congrats to PapaM
  13. It was not me. I got back from the cottage on saturday and have not been out in the boat since. I don't do weekends in the summer on the bay. I will do the odd SUnday night but not during the day. I might get out tomorrow morning though (going to try and take 2 of my kids, and both of my parents).
  14. You are snugging too hard Beans LOL! I do know what you mean though I have cut line about 100 times by pulling it too hard to set it in place. Sometimes it is hard to find that happy medium
  15. x2 I use bell weights to save $. I drop shot loads. I probably use a the drop shot technique more than any other and I have used every size of weight, every shape, colour, material etc and I think the bell sinker works just as well as my $1.25 per weight tungsten drop shot weights. Tungsten is heavier for its size so if you want a smaller weight and don't mind paying go for it.
  16. People fish the ditches at the end of my road for brookies. I am not lying. There is a creek that is 10 yards behind my house that has brookies in it. As to the OP. There are not too many lakes or ponds that don't have some kind of fish in it. The trick is to find out what is there and how to catch them (so pretty much the exact same thing as fishing on a big body of water)
  17. Yes, I believe you are allowed to use leopard frogs as long as you catch them yourself. I believe you may have 12 in posession.
  18. As a teenager we used to stay here and I loved it. Great smallmouth fishing right at the doorstep and lakers were pretty easy to catch as well. Great memories. http://www.manitoulin-island.com/mountainviewresort/ Edited: I posted this not realizing that you have already returned. Sorry. Looks like a good trip anyway.
  19. I broke 1ft of the the tip off my 7' MH veritas while casting a 1/2 oz spinnerbait. It was the rod's first cast of the day. That has never happened to me before. I have broken loads of rods before in about 30 different ways but never on a cast. The rod carries a 5 yr warranty and I took it back to BPS and the guy told me I would have to deal with manufacturer because it was over the 30 days. I told him no way. I refuse to pay $20 to ship it to them. He then phone the guy in the fishing dept. I think his name was Mike and he said do an exchange. So I got the exact same rod. Hope this doesn't happen again. BPS customer service comes through yet again for me. That is two broken rods and two replacements.
  20. This post is just sick! Again, you catch stupid fish!!! insane. Your pics are nasty too! Your solo pics are better than my pics when I am behind the camera!! (sick, stupid, insane and nasty = awesome(before I get flamed)) And I just put parentheses in parentheses. Good for me.
