  1. I like that Ron I usually just say "That is a big bass. Most people never get to see a 7 or 8 pound smallie in their life even if that is all they fish for. You were really lucky! I am jealous."
  2. Looks like Toronto is going to get hit later this aft/eve around 7pm by another cell
  3. That was intense. I remember back in 1985 when tornado came through and crushed us here in Barrie. It was darker at that time. Today during the worse part of the storm that just past, I happened to be driving through allendale (that is where the 85 tornado hit). Not cool. Managed to get home and in the basement. Would not be surprised if one or two twisters touched down. Temp went from 35 to 23 in about 15 minutes. I bet the waterspouts on Kemp were crazy
  4. Well it is a bit tough to fish with him as he lives/lived in Alberta. They are here for the summer and are thinking of moving back as they have sold their place in Edmonton. I hope this happens for sure.
  5. Nice fish guys!! But, what are you doing fishing bass there? There are no bass there. Must have been a fluke catch
  6. Hey Rob. I wasn't actually wearing my sunglasses when I caught the fish but I put them on for the pic just for you. lol
  7. Got out fishing with my dad for the first time in years. He is getting on in age but still knows how to fish. Pretty cool seeing as he is the one who got me into it in the first place. He caught some huge perch today and some smallies as well. I managed to get into the act as well. Nice day on Simcoe for sure.
  8. I saw the guys on strike on Bayview today in front of the coke depot
  9. Nice opener. You have really turned into a good bass fisherman!! Nice to see your progress over the years. Well done Mike.
  10. Nice job! Love those black smallies
  11. There are no walleye in Simcoe (actually there are no small walleye in Simcoe)
  12. Those are good fish. The pros were out and you didn't cash a cheque unless you had over 26 pounds! Winner had 29.55 which is crazy for an opener.
  13. Ok. So here is the deal. The guy who owned it lived one street over from me. I found the rod on the road between my and BillM's house (we live about 300 yards from each other). I immediately call BillM to ask if it was his as it was good quality. Nope. So the guy described it in great detail. It was in his boat and he was on his way to the lake but stopped at McDon's for food. When he got to the lake he saw it was missing and assumed someone stole it out of his boat while he was getting food. He went on Kijiji because he figured someone might try to sell it. The rod and reel were a father's day gift from a few years back so they were special to him. Turns out he too is a teacher and works with a bunch of friends of mine. The rod was a St.Croix premier 6'6" medium light with a shimano sustain FD 2500 (nice). Here is the funny part. I spooled it up with 8lb fluoro and used it as a drop shot rod to fish a tournament on Georgian Bay yesterday. My partner and I came 2nd (18.5 pounds) and also captured big fish 4.5 pounds. Nice payout for me yesterday. That rod and reel also landed our second biggest fish at 4.14 pounds. And the kicker. The guy who came over for the rod brought with him a $50 LCBO gift card and gave it to me as a reward. I tried to give it back but he would not have it. All in all everything worked out well for everyone.
  14. The owner came and picked up the rod and reel from my house today. He was happy and so was I. Glad he got it back. He saw my ad on Kijiji
  15. Hey Bill. Do you only ask your dad to go fishing when it is raining? LOL! Nice pics
  16. Check out the shoulders on that one. Cross his eyes when you set the hook. waterworf
  17. Hey Brian. I ran the half marathon this morning and I saw that boat all rigged up ready to go with full canopy. Well done.
