Fingers are at the ready and no need for mesh. And Im not in any hurry to getrdone. LOL I use up the skein quick. Never goes to the next year. Like you said, goes to mush.

I have only caught salmon with skein this year. I finger swipe some into loose , and keep skein for chunks. As for the size of chunks, I have used huge pieces. I find the bigger, the better. That is me, and it works for me. Good call on the borax on the skein. If you have open cuts on your hand when handling it, you will not like the stinging pain. LOL This is 2 sides that I finger swiped loose from a 8 pound hen last weekend. Looks like trout roe. When I say finger loose, I mean I gently run my fingers through the skein pulling the eggs off the membrane. I leave nothing behind but the membrane. All loose eggs. Some use a spoon, but I wind it damages too many eggs, and you get too much membrane pieces. My sweet and salty cure I like to use brown sugar and fine seas salt

I remember those days. Then life happened, and am thankful to do 40 a week and enjoy life, as it should of be. Spent the morning fishing the river til 11. Headed home to get dinner on ye way. The ham was perfect and so were the fix.ns. Time to chillax and burp it off. LOL Hope all are enjoying their day.

Shore fishing now in that area is very limited. You can still fish the fishermans dock at the park and also where the tour boat sits by the legion. I,ll bet he,ll be pleased to just enjoy fishing with you. I would say you will catch pan fish no problem. I always looked for a place to fish when we did the travel hockey tourneys. I have fly fished from my toon. So we are pretty much the same as far as being low to the water . It,s not like standing and throwing a fly thats for sure. Lots of times, I caught myself ducking out of the way on the back swing, then getting hit in the back of my hat on the forward swing. Line gets caught up on things. Like my foot pegs, or wrapped around my finder and go pro. LOL It,s a challenge, but it is fun.

LOL I always found the best duck hunting around here, was during the deer hunt. Guys would be dogging through the bush and swamps, jumping ducks all morning. It was a BLAST of a time. I see my eye specialist in December. Im going to see what he says about me shooting a shotgun. I am worried about the recoil and shock to the head from the blasting. I would like to get out again.
