  1. Great report. I always heard great things about that lake. Looks like you got em pretty good. Thanks for the report.
  2. Great job on the largies. They look way heavier than you say. Lets just call the big one a five pounder ! Every good fisherman knows how to exagerate or just plain out lie ! Thumbs up
  3. Nice job Sinker ! What was the hot bait out there?
  4. Looks like you guys had a lot of fun out there. BTW,your buddy has mustard all over his face ! Thanks for posting the chrome
  5. Amazing! to say the least. Next time I'm in Quebec, I am going to kidnap you and make you take me there! Looks like your own piece of ( bass ) paradise You should be very proud. Thanks for sharing.
  6. Largemouth lovin. You really got em good. Nice job !
  7. Great fish that you guys caught. It is important to our/your fishery that those larger fish are released to breed another day. You are within your right to keep them if you want to, but you should keep the smaller ones for the table. Maybe next time
  8. Two weeks ago I decided to take the kids out bass fishing......one at a time. The results were personal bests for each kid. Gotta love circle hooks and senkos. My oldest daughter and I with two healthy largies. A P.B. for her. Next day I decided to take my youngest daughter to my go to spot. I gave her a spinning rod and directed her where to cast. Fish on! A personal best for her, reeled in all by herself. Now for my favorite fishing moment of all time......... Took my three year old boy out bass'n for the first time. We pulled up to a great weedline and I picked up the spinning gear. I did a long bomb cast as far as I could and handed the rod off to the little guy. "Wait and let it sink " I said to my young apprentice. As I picked up my flipping stick, I pitched out a black jig into a thick weed patch and boom......Fish on! A dink 2 pounder for Dad. "Daddy, Daddy, I think I got one" my son says. Thinking that he was caught up on weeds, I doubted that he had a fish on.....untill I heard the drag peeling. I immediatly dropped the flipping stick and helped my guy boat his first bass. A very proud moment for Dad ! Its going to be tough to beat those P.B's for the kids and I told them that the fishing is not always that easy. I will be back at it this weekend. Oh yeah.....all fish were realeased at dockside
  9. Ha Ha Ha, great read !!!! It usually is the small ones that inflict the most damage. I try not to hold the small ones by the gill plate, instead I just grab firmly on top of the head and hold on tight. It helps to have all the right tools handy ( jaw spreaders & needle nose pliers ) With the big ones, slide your left hand ( trust me ) under the gill plate and grab the jaw bone tightly. Once you are commited to grabbing the fish, dont have second thoughts.Support the fish with your right hand under the fish's belly. In one swift motion, lift it into the boat. Remove the lure with the tools that you already have out, take picture and release. No glove necessary. I find that nets are a pain in the ass. When they decide to roll in the net, it can get pretty messy. Good luck http://www.ofncommunity.com/forums/index.p...ike+spring+2009.
  10. I would hold out on the replica. If you have a cottage on rice lake, I would wait. Its just a matter of time till you get a fish over 5 #'s or maybe even 6
  11. Real nice walleye from shore. What types of lures/colours are you using at this time of year for the eyes? You are doing a great job with the little one. Those are memories that will last her a lifetime. My youngest daughter and my 3 year old boy got their PB bass this year. I will post them later. Thanks for sharing.

  16. Im was invited up to a freinds cottage for the weekend at Paudash lake. I thought that I would bring the kids up there for a little R & R. I heard that the fishing can be decent for bass. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I dont expect anyone to give away hotspots but some insight and a push in the right direction would be nice. Thanks, MIKE
  17. Glad you found Mike @ Hastings Marine. Great people there, family run business. I bought my boat and motor there too. 50, 4 stroke Yamaha. I just breathe on the key and it starts every time !!! As for the trolling thing.....I just use a drift sock attached to the front cleats, works gr8.
  18. Come on people....get with the program. It aint the colour that catches the fish!!!!! Check out Stike King-Sexy Shad Or........Lucky Craft-Chartreuse Shad Oh, I guess that Dave invented those colours too ! You people are so gullable
  19. The fishing is like any other Kawartha lake in the area. The bass fishing can be good at times but it can also have its tough moments. Some pretty big musky have been caught there in the past.Good luck. The public launch is in Percy Boom.
  20. Lo and behold, we went back to that spot from the other day and it was just full of fishermen. What a coincidence after my report was up that suddenly trout fishermen show up at a spot that's usually empty. I don't mind people fishing spots I reported about but sheesh, some acknowledgement wouldn't hurt. Like "Hey Rich, how are ya?" Poor antisocial lurkers. lol ??????? You post pics of the spot and the fish, and then complain about "anti-social lurkers". I dont get it. No offence, but the only person to blame is yourself. BTW... your girl is hot........And she kisses fish! Thats what I call a woman!!!!
  21. I cant see the pics.Sounds like you guys had fun.
