24/7, yeah, I have been using it quite a bit this season. Its a 3/4 oz. bass flipping jig with a yum money minnow on the back.Pesistance finally paid off. I like to use 55 # flourocarbon leaders for pike. I tie it on directly to 50 or 30 # power pro with a back to back uni knot. It seems to work well although I have been bitten off. The key is to inspect the leader and re-tie often. Thanks everybody for the kind words.

Hey guys, Did a lot of pike fishing this fall......as usual. Decided to give up steelheading this season to chase after fall bass and pike. Had a great season with tons of fish being taken on all types of baits. Mostly jerk baits. Here are some of the better fish this fall. No true giants, but some respectable toothy critters. When I compile and download all my fall bass photos I will post them for ya all !

Bass till the bitter end....gotta love it. November bass this year was great for me as well. I had the best two days of bass fishing of my life this November. I will post the pics for everybody when I get all the pics from my buddys camara. Here is one of many November largies .

Nice report there Solo. My car has 500 000km on it from those "dam"places. And people call the eastern rivers "ditches"????. Those are the true ditches. quick question about that first spot..... Do you think that alot of those fish are strays from our side of the lake or do you think they are stockers from over there ? They seem pretty big for American stockers. They look kind of like a Ganny strain. Possibly a mix ?

Wow, thanks for your reports here on OFC. You make this place worth while. It looks like we have another steelhead addict on the forum now. You seem to have gotten some better than average size fish for that river. Well done.

If I were you......... I wouldnt even bother buying a float reel just yet. There is a lot to learn about steelheadig first. Learn how to consistantly catch them first on spinning gear for a year or two and then decide weather or not you want a float reel. You dont need the added aggrevation of learning how to use a float reel. It wont help you catch more fish. Its just a funner way of doing it. Some of the best steelheaders that I know use spinning gear. When you do finnaly decide on buying one, dont waste your $ on fly line backing. $2 redwolf mono from Crappy tire will fill the reel with your choice of 10# mono over top of it. Good luck.

Nice fishin there guys. Be sure to check the regs before carying that much roe on you down there. You probably already know, but some guys might think that they can go down there and help themselves to as much roe as they want. This is not the case.
