  1. That's funny you say that Solo, I bought a breatheable waders from Bondar on the board and guess whats in the back of his truck? One of your earlier Cts Spiel, thanks for the link, I've always thought they were cut. And if they were do you treat the cut ends with something? I have bare aluminum on some parts of my reel and they start to corrode. Also the ring at the end of the threaded part by the locking nuts, they purchased separately?
  2. AWESOME work as always. On the wooden reel seats does the metal part get cut off then the wood slide inside the threaded tube?
  3. I really enjoyed reading this report Mike... like the gentleman above had said...it's like reading a novel, you could be Hemmingway
  4. Picked some yesterday but not too much just enough for one person bec. they are not out in my neck of the woods...lucked out on a good looking stocker as well
  5. This is really refreshing Mike, I really regret missing out on the chance to fish with you last fall
  6. Nice Brian, I didn't realize you went for the 4-8 cts....it's a sweet blank...you'll love it.
  7. Glad the christening went very well Brian, And you got your fiddleheads too . Chris does a phenomenal job, that rod will give you great joy for a long time for sure.
  8. Mike can I have your autograph?
  9. I've caught red horse before, I've also seen them get stranded in a pool and there must have been over a hundred of them, I've caught a big sucker also which fought almost like a steelhead. That fisrt pic looks great man, nice shootin'
  10. Looks like somebody has been very busy these days
  11. I am no means as experienced as some of the guys that gave their piece here but I went this route( pike taper). Same as you I was going to swing big flies and this was a good fly line to learn from and it does the job for bass flies as well. I love it.
  12. yup that's me...and the reel too
  13. Haven't heard that in a while...for some reason reminds me of Howard Stern Try em out Skip that's the best way to find out if yer ideas are good or not
  14. When I just arrived to Canada, my brother in law fed me rabbit, didn't tell what it was, he just told it's good. I loved it ever since. It was marinated with red wine, garlic, salt and pepper overnight, then cooked alltogether with rice, bay leaf and peas mmmm....
  15. They beat me to it, but I'd say some kind of grouper. Looks like a great trip Mike. Been to Cuba once at Varadero, to my dismay I did not bring a fishing rod, the wife would've killed me if I had
  16. The colors on those specks are unreal Tyler, Awesome report as always man
  17. Congrats and all the best on your trip
  18. Chris does nice work...and to pair that with awesome customer service...can't beat that. Here's one of his handy work...
  19. I was wondering the same thing, it's probably for a salt water spinning reel
  20. Daiwa has a pretty good one. I got mine at lebarron's. The one i got houses my 5 1/4 reel nicely with rod attached
  21. So why not you then? Haven't got the balls?
  22. I was gonna suggest the same thing. I would try to pry em a bit and put it in between the cracks then slather on the outside up to an inch to each side of the crack. Had an issue with mine but mine was minor compared to yours so hope this helps.
  23. The float reel is at home at the rivers and streams since it's where it was meant for, productive...yes, the best?hmmm...maybe a lot of the old school guys disagree, I know a lot of guys fish for them with spinning reels via floats or hardware. Recently Solopaddler made a post of targeting steelhead on hardware with a spinning reel, so like you said it can be done with good results, from what he said it was the agrressive fish that he got to fool, mainly reaction strikes
  24. Sorry for your loss bud, I lost mine last year. Had her for about 8 years...
  25. I can olny speak for neoprenes, as they are the only one's I've ever had, for a long time and had no issues with it until now
