I appreciate it. However I think I'll be answering a few questions privately. It's only fair and keeping to forum rules.

  6. For the first time I have all 4 reels in one roof, but if only for a few hours. I snapped a few pics with the new parts installed. ..could not resist and off it goes again. This one I will miss... I kept a few for the kids....and me . This one is mine. PS: Thanks to the guys who stood by me.
  7. It's nice to see when things come full circle. Brady is indeed a talented angler and by the looks of it a talented rod builder as well. This truly is a gifted community. And am proud to be part of it. Ps. I've seen most of what Spiel have posted...the pics don't do justice to them....I'm sure Brady's is the same way. I really like the rear wood grip on the first rod that Brady posted.
  8. Good luck hunting Chris. Looking forward to the report Edwin
  9. If I were you I would get a float reel that feels good in your hands. Go to the stores and have a feel for the ones that they have within your budget. Nothing like seeing a product in person. Amundson reels are more popular out west. They are a Canadian company but their manufacturing facility is in China. I have a switch rod set up from them and I could not complain of the quality. That bring said I cant comment on the reel since I have not handled it. The most important feature, for me at least, is the start up. If it's any consolation, it's hard to find float reels nowadays that has a bad start up. Start up and spin time are not one and the same. A reel that does not spin that long does not necessarily mean it has a bad start up. Fit, finish, weight its all subjective to what you can live with in your budget.
  10. What a great read and viewing as well. Thank you. Some really nice shots there too. I wonder what was TJ pondering with axe in hand....lol

  13. I have been always curious about shrooming but been chicken to try it out. My sister and her kids when I was little picked a poisonous one had to be rushed to the hospital. I have only gone for fiddle heads and water crest...both tasty might I say. Thanks for posting bud. Very informative.

  17. Glad to see you are out and about shooting these amazing pictures and fishing as well...good for you bud. Your work is amazing. Thanks for sharing.
  18. Must be quite a work out getting those shots , those pike are healthy looking. Looks like an awesome fishery. Thanks for taking the time to put out reports like this. The scenery shots are awesome. I am partial to the twilight pics. ..they look cool
  19. You really need some time and patience if you are gonna try this style of fishing. Maxima ultra green is a nice line that is very forgiving I found. For salmon I use 10 lb. You get some line twists in float reels as well depending on how you cast. It is a learning curve for sure, so the simpler your set up the more you can focus learning to properly cast and control your line and present your bait to whatever your fishing for.
  20. Wow nicely done Brian. That is a nice silver chinny.
  21. Those are some nice shots. Thanks for sharing Brian. Yer legs ok now? Lol
  22. With regards to your question fly reels esp. The cheaper ones don't use the same bearings than the ones used on a float reel. The one I had used roler bearings (dowels) housed in a plastic case. So you might have to bore out the journal to accomodate the appropriate bearings. I did not measure so I am only guessing youll have to. If your lucky and they have the right kind of bearing you can modify or change them. So could be a lot of work and not nbe as good as the real thing. Looks like Bluegill got the solution for you. I'd look into used cp and see what you can dig up.
