lots of great advice only thing I could add is you will be tempted to leave the bunks (assuming bunk trailer) to far into the water .That was my mistake with the old boat ,someone suggested I only leave the last foor or so in the water ( after wetting ) and now we can almost always drive right on.Also help is ramp is level left to right . We launch on a backwood river from a non maintained ramp ,trailer always unlevel and it takes sometimes 4-5 tries to get it on the trailer straight. Good luck TB

Been going for last 7 or so years and always been able to launch and suspect this year will be no different. Narrows are open all year due to the current just gettin to it is the issue right now . Once year fished in heavy fog with lots of loose ice around ,sounded like a million wind chimes ! May take a pass this year kinda tired of crush of boats at the launches .Or maybe launch at Tiffen and go for a cruise tb

I have no clue when it comes to fishing rivers so thought I 'd throw out these questions . Any river fishing opportunities beween Barrie and Parry sound this time of year or is all still froze solid? Will rain tonight tomorrow make it not worthwhile I'm travelling north tomorrow on buisness. Pikeie has got the itch to try our some of the flies he's created over the winter . Thanks for any and all responses TB

Whats worse than trading the SUV for a mini van ...owning two mini vans Not so bad really 99 venture , 259,000 km runs ok , except this morning with a puddle of tranny fluid underneath .Good news is it just the tranny cooler. drove the 06 Honda today Picked the Honda to tow the 17 ft lund with 90hp and all the teenagers (3) Most torque and HP ( I think Toyota has since passed ) of that years crop of mini vans and 4 wheel disc . People some times forget about the stopping part. It pulls no problem although gas mileage drops ( runs in D3 higher rpm) which is undertandable. We launch several times a year at Ontarios steepest boat ramp (Pier 69 , Vistoria harbour) with no problems , doesn't even spin a wheel , where I 'v seen a Ford ranger do a very nice burnout . I think for the boat you're puilling any Mini van will do the job , just prefernce I guess TB
