  1. You have said this a few times now, so what are you going to use the new combo for? That may help out better telling us what you want to use the new combo for in giving feedback to other options out there. buick14 is telling you some good info there too. He's one to trust there as he's got a TOP NOTCH arsenal of fishing gear... You DO want to check what's being sold on this site first as Brian mentioned. I have gotten a few things off Pete at great rates! Others too... Just some 'food for thought' there.
  2. Where are you located? If JB's is close then check them out for sure! From SERVICE to price it's worth a trip to the smaller stores...
  3. so easy to make an inappropriate comment there... Go to a few smaller places that have the brands you're after and put the rod and reel together to see if you like the feel of it. You might find a rod or reel off your list to match up better. If I ever buy online I know what I'm getting from seeing it and holding it prior. The CAD vs USD will kill your "deal" as stated...
  4. I'll take 1 nice job. I made a blanket box for my son out of old barn boards cause they were there and looked good. nice work
  5. My kids and I watched it, I hid the dvd the second it was over it's that sad... I also say get something with sent for the dog to lay with. Every time I had to kennel my dog for vacations in the past I'd leave an unwashed t-shirt for her to lay with, it helped her big time.
  6. it's all good bawbag and thanks to Gerry too
  7. Thanks, that's why I said the year for fishing was an A-. Only cause my 9 year old son spent more time on land than in the boat. My 12 year old daughter and I fished non stop when we could. I'm very proud of both kids but now she doesn't need me to bait a hook or unhook a fish (unless it's got teeth)
  8. the year as a whole sucked for me too with only 1 'highlight' (not fishing wise). BUT, SHE went back to him to try and make it work for the kids so back to a bunk year for me... fishing wise the year was close to an A- as I spent almost every other weekend in the boat with my kids hammering fish. will 2016 be better? one can hope! 'dare to dream' I say that it will be better...
  9. great post (Simon and Rick) some great memories for sure!
  10. Correct One can wish, however R has limited towers hence why they bought fido (cost) years ago (running of the same towers and owners as Wind) So it is up you quality vs cost
  11. Thanks Tom! I'm and old school (anchor with lots of rope) kind of guy and my electronics are all point of sight vs humps on a graph for my main lake so it's all good! I use local knowledge vs tech but I'm a tech person so I'm ready to "hop onboard" when the right tech comes along in my $ range. Sorry to throw this post off track to the OP! But if it fit's how I fish; one never knows...
  12. the motorguide PDF I found is garbage for a "motorguide fw-fb 46 lb thrust 12 volt" search. So got a pic and the other info? I have an 18'6" bowrider I'm considering this for. It sit's up to high in the water.
  13. Yeah I think the same. So for 4 years of service to you it cost you only $50 to $75 a season (depending on what you paid) so worth it in my eyes. At $200 I may consider hitting you up for it in the spring (unless you want to move it ASAP). *edit to add* but what does it come with? How longs is the shaft (didn't search the item yet)?
  14. cold and windy as all can be here and now the snow's falling. a bit late for Christmas there mother nature! but glad for it!!

Yech, I would have been quite happy without the snow. Boots and mitts and maybe the snowblower tomorrow.

  15. And that's what I'd get when I went for that very reason...
  16. PS: I will not share the blame till said sled is here at my house. Till then it's all on you all...
  17. Oh yeah John Labatt Classic was a very nice beer! I wish they would bring it back in seasonal batches from time to time.
  18. Yeah I too worked out a deal on my 1st sled; BUT I'm NOT taking the extra blame/heat for it now that you all are...

  23. I get made fun of often as "the old man beer" and other jokes but it's the best Canadian pilsner out there. Guinness is another great pint! *just decided to head out to the pub for a Guinness now after that post*
  24. Same; like pilsner urquell. But (here's where you all make fun of me) I'll grab a Blue for my regular I know how it's going to taste and cost beer.
  25. HAHAHAHAHAHAAHA! I was wondering when you would see that...
