  1. That's 5% off to those who paid for the 10% off card. Not 25%. lol.
  2. Fish species should not be made illegal to keep solely for reasons of "sport." That's a slippery slope. Unfortunately can't view the video here in the boonies today.
  3. Only ever made it to Walleye Heaven twice... cause after the second trip there was no going back. Ahhhh well, crap happens I guess.
  4. White Russians... and turkey!
  5. Did I not just sit outside and fish that day? lol.
  6. I think ya made a good choice Jeff.
  7. Lakers I like the Legend Premier rods 32ML, 36M & 36MH depending on what sizes of fish I'm expecting to catch. In the Kenai or 2-man Pop-up there's enough room for the 36-inchers.
  8. Would like to catch Atlantic salmon but in Ungava on the George River at Helens Falls. Specific I know. lol. Otherwise, tarpon... on the Carribean side of Costa Rica. Also BIG inconnu from anywhere would be a cool one too.
  9. Tough to pick one... Jimmy Superfly Snuka, Ricky the Dragon, Rowdy Roddy Piper and Ultimate Warrior were probably the favorites of the bunch. The British Bulldogs, Davey Boy Smith and Dynamite Kid were the favorite tag team.
  10. After 15 years it was time to let a different truck do the towing... ... Other than that, picked up a Terrova80, a Daiwa ultralight and Crucial spinning rod to replace some broken sticks. Most purchasing in a year goes to using what I have... using it in far off and fun places, and around home. Nothing much to buy in 2015 for fishing... plan to spend on Arctic travel and Northern Ontario trips. Some lures and line and a travel rod.
  11. If Rugger is on this board he took a good and cheaper charter out of Cocoa Beach for roosters... and did well. I'd say that the inshore is pretty shotty, we nailed tonnes of jacks, bonitos, mackerels and needlefish back in 2002 on a morning charter, but then last year went inshore a day and a half and it was pretty slow. That and, the gear was shart and tackle old and extremely limited. Lost a rooster, big cuda, mahi mahi and some other fish. You may want to take gear of your own unless paying really "good" money. Offshore opps usually more expensive can be where it's at. Costa Rica tourism has grown a tonne in the past 15-20 years... so much so it's expensive now with many people looking to just take you for a ride. If any charter advertises like $50-100 PP, you're pretty well garunteed you'll be packed on a boat with a dozen people to just go out to sea and pray you're on a rod that may fire.
  12. Not sure about the "edible" comments? Consumption for numbers and size is greater off the Great Lakes than it is many, many remote and pristine Ontario back lakes. Remembering that, it's mercury which is tested in walleye, as "little" levels of other pollutants are actually found in their meat and, they live rather short lives in the GL's. This is only what I recall though, from a telephone conversation with someone with "The Guide To Eating Ontario Sportfish." Think overall the boat only had few with blown-out air bladders this year, most bigger eyes actually hitting higher up on the shallowest lines. Wonderbread and Barbie were the best by far. Those kept and consumed along with a few other keepers, tasted just fine.
  13. Can't hear video while at work. But want to. You guys did awesome with the editing and angles. Liked watching. Some excellent pics too! And I so wanted to go fishing that same day in November... but couldn't.
  14. Can't help either... really do know little of investments... especially those for the long term. But that said, great thread to read through. Do believe though, (for maybe some other's reading) that it doesn't hurt when you're young to invest in an education or skill that has "actual" job prospects, even if that maybe means incurring some extra debt on top of debt already existing. Get working, make better money, and sock some of it away for the old and grey. And don't make it all about the end game either... there's plenty space in the middle you won't get back, and plenty things you won't be physically able to do despite finally having the time and money to do so.
  15. Some incredible fish this year Trev. Seriously... Love the muskies and specks most but man, there's a tonne of goodies in this one. Best to ya in 2015.
  16. This isn't the report I've been PATIENTLY WAITING FOR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Those are some incredible splake Mike. Knew you wouldn't be able to resist yourself. You've spent so much time, energy and years in those hills and woods exploring alone, I'm pretty sure you don't even need ice, when you seem to be able to walk on water and ride on rabbits. We'll touch base when I get home... for now I'm swimming in a diesel fuel spill and working a M.A.S.H. unit.
  17. Had to find a "backdoor" at work here just to sneak into OFC today. Nice to find this Al. Your photos with their style are always an enjoyable view and the two stories included (filming and nephew) made this report exceptionally unique from others. The third pic is a real gem too. People viewing this take note too... if you haven't ever checked out Al's site highlighting Nipigon Brook Trout you're missing out on some great speck info and history. http://members.shaw.ca/amuir/ Cool stuff Al. Hope the Ford works out for ya too bud!
  18. The reason that Bravo got stuck had nothing to do with it's ability to stay on top and ride over much the same Dave... It had everything to do with bad luck. lol. BTW... Wayne's a wizz with fawcet washers and Bravo primers. Fixed quick with no issue. Got the rest of the season out of the Bravo cause of the man's ability to McGyver stuff. lol.
  19. Just the angle methinks. Does real well in the deep though. The 5" wide ski skins were the best extra to ever put on that sled. Only been good and stuck once... ever! Chris will remember. lol
  20. That thing is gnarly Bern!
  21. Saw that. There's hope then for a full year of ice fishing in 2015. For the first times since about 10,000 - 12,000 years ago. Hooray!!!
  22. Bravo = Love. The "Other" Sled... The "Old" Sled... Like seeing the old Bravo pics and Tundras too, and how people "pimp" their rides for ice fishing especially.
  23. Worm gear went on mine after a few years. Shimano since with no issues. Gladly for you though, you still caught the fish. You don't even need a reel apparently.
  24. Dry Reserve did much the same Bernie when I was 24 Bernie. Quit booze and smokes both when stepping off the plane. Did put on some weight though... quick. Flying through Timmins tomorrow morning on my way up too. Meet ya there maybe?
  25. Sorry to hear Cliff. Just an insane wind yesterday... for 4:00am or so, last I looked, one wind site for Quinte called for 100km gusts. Heavy stuff. Power only out here a few hours, the girls and I just played Crazy 8's and enjoyed the howling being outside. Your day/night a little crazier.
