  1. Unlike you Lew, computers have to sleep from time to time.
  2. You're a good guy Jay! And best to you and all your buds for the holidays, 2016 and many years beyond that.
  3. Just returned from six weeks in Nunavut, it's tropical here at home and it's great!
  4. Makes a man miss his steelheading. Some cool warmer weather trippin and tribbin guys.
  5. My father hitch-hiked and rode a motorcycle Ontario to B.C. Would always tell me that Ottawa to Winnipeg and along the Superior route is nice, but then skip Winnipeg to nearing Calgary if you can. But, you gotta drive in towards the Rockies from the Praries to appreciate them most.
  6. Have too many great days in 2015 to make it short... but enjoying this post and everyone else's responses. Great fishing guys... and births too BigUg!
  7. Any muskie I've caught in November have all come out of 5' or less.
  8. Eyes one after another but, I like the dog playing most.
  9. Hey TJ! Sorry to read this. Condolences bud.
  10. Didn't know it walking on the ice on the Attawapiskat River the first time in 2000. Had never iced fish before then, nor gone out on any frozen lake. Out on the river, see skidoo tracks and everything but walking along an island shore out in the middle the ice just thunders. Does it again and again. Spooked the heck out of me for my first time. Walked back across to mainland a couple 100 meters carrying basically a dead tree stripped of its branches thinking it might help if I fall through. Ice had to be 2-3 feet thick that time of year, maybe more. Didn't come to realize it until sometime later, that the ice was just rising or falling with the tides off James Bay. Anyways... funny little vid Simon. Complete with the cuss.
  11. However... or whatever. Purdy cool you gotta admit, to get THAT from THIS here! A keepsake from your buddy the Prime Minister of Canada.
  12. Tomkat said it! But then those 50 don't work out either. Your one did Brian, for the steel. Nice!!! How long on the smokes now?
  13. There's a good few people who put Clair back on the map for me this year, you're one of them. Stellar season.
  14. Oh man! Memories to come. Cute pup!
  15. Wanna be home. Take my girls to Star Wars. Take my oldest out on a dinner date, my youngest some place to play. Be at my Aunt's Christmas Eve with extended family and friends, drinking White Russians and scotch while playing Euchre and snacking on Holiday goodies. Christmas morn be the last to get up, keep 'em waiting a little, then spoil those girls rotten. Want the turkey dinner Bren and I do up for the entire family to be perfect. Sip me some wine and fall into a tryptophan coma. Want everyone to be OK that my Grandmother won't be with us for the first time this year. And won't mind one bit not working a day for two weeks, and spending as much of that with my girls as possible.
  16. Your motor isn't even gear at 4.5mph. Where the heck has that Terry been? At -43 & -50C windchill this past weekend, this makes me just a wee bit jealous Wayner!
  17. Thanks dood! Hope to guide there again, or somewhere..? And that guy... well he knows where to find me eh! Thanks AK! This one is a beast to read, kinda sorta sorry for that but not really. There are a tonne more pictures on the desktop at home and maybe if time over the holidays more will pop up more here. Finding pics of little shorelunch sized fish will be difficult though.
  18. I was gonna say... this report needs more cowbell.
  19. Fall fatty on the feed bag. Nice Rickster!
  20. Thank you fellas. We have been around awhile ehg! And what's great about that is when us older members continue to post in kind, and support other's reports and fishing, as you do time and again, and have again here. Knowing this one gets a top honors nod from one who's pretty well read everything I've written online, means plenty. Proud of this report and the experience which made it, wanted to capture it all right and real and keep people on the line, and appreciate knowing that some of those who have seen it all from me, continue to enjoy reading. Two and some weeks of hiding out Meegs. Quietly chipping away to pass the time. The fishery is as good as it's been or better since your 1995 days. You'd only be one year late for a twentieth anniversary return visit. Ha ha!!!
  21. Boys I played with in a highschool band all really liked STP... wasn't that into them but certainly didn't mind the tunes, have a couple on the song list and Sour Girl played just last evening. All that talent, all the fame and success, and all that life wasted. A shame really.
  22. My two times faster than dial up is killing this report Mike... But it appears as though you've got the largies dialed right in. Like the steelhead the best but hey, it's all good dood! Great season. Good luck in the 2016
  23. BILL!!!! This is so up your alley dood I don't know how or why it is you haven't made this happen yet. You got that love for the big grease, the travel bug and a sense of grand adventure... Time you make it happen. Barking back and forth ti'll it comes to punches is for simpletons and drunks really. And why should I take any risk? Walk away, and if it comes to it, use the brain instead. Bruises to the surface only last for days dood. Bruising a bullies ego tends to bother 'em much longer. Just "wow." Just that alone TJ? Just "thanks." Then nobody would have believed the rest of the report. Thanks doods!
  24. Don't know where you find the time Mike, but all the power to you. Ummmm... and so my $0.02 Not subscribing to anything anymore at this time myself, I would hope at some point to view the product before considering purchase. Others would maybe want that as well. A premier issue online would be a good gateway to that Mike. See what it's all about. Something to think over eh! I agree with you 110% on your intended content. The "how-to's" have been done to death for me in publications, and the product pushing. Understand why many would like them but, any magazine I do pick up off the shelf I most often look for the travel destination pieces. Being a story teller, I like the escapism when being told or taken away on a story/trip. That's why it's great we still have a few people around online willing to share their realism and experiences, outside of much commercialism. Applaud the idea. Like the direction. You may not remember but yet you may, our conversation in a restaurant U.S. side one night back November 2009. Told you about Petri Hiel (Kingfisher) Germany. You've gone that direction somewhat yourself since then, and if you recall this, you'd know I envy your choices. If you are serious about making the best profit you can, then it will be difficult to give things away for free, especially as you often do in the grand format here and elsewhere. Your saving grace if you continue to do so, may just come from the culmination of all other contributors who do not do the same. Much like with OOD in your past I'd guess, a hold out for first rights in order to be the fresh current resource is to the publications benefit. I think you objected to this with OOD, but down the road the shoe may need be worn on the other foot. Like I commented before too Mike... BIG BALLZ. The time you put into work, fishing, fishing, fishing, travel, travel, planning, planning, planning, reporting, reporting and now this...??? Don't know how you do it and find time for sleep, let alone family. But you obviously must, and, you've always been the type to give things you're passionate about their full attention, 200%. So, I think if anyone can pull off a great launch and take this down some road of success, it's you man. You've put in the time and miles to prepare for it and it's gonna be interesting to watch the race. Good luck Mike.
  25. Dang dood! What a long awesome fall for fishing. You're right, why would you care, these are the bonus rounds anyways.
