I had a boat stolen, rant/ vent included
Moosebunk replied to chris.brock's topic in General Discussion
Sorry to hear bud, especially as to the frequency of it all. Thieves are just vile people and I can understand any immediate rage you or anyone might have. Hope it's found... or at least doesn't happen again. -
Seriously good numbers. What an enjoyable week that had to have been.

Cast # 578...help me hook up a muskie before #1000
Moosebunk replied to scuro2's topic in General Discussion
He said it! Muskies are the only fish I'll bother checking moon rise and set as well because funny thing is, much of my biggest and best have come between 1 to 5 pm while fishing in just the fall. Those fish hitting on the moon phase -
Several times a year my black Lund gets a thorough cleaning with a car wash/wax inside and out. Think it's Turtle Wax brand. Carpet and vinyl flooring scrubs up nice too with a brush and the same soap or, a gentle pressure washing gets any gritty film off. Don't think it hurts a thing at all and when washing the boat one might as well do the trailer too. They can be big investments, no harm in protecting that with a little effort.

Well done Mike! Especially like the smallies and bowfin, but that many largies is impressive too. Great two weeks for ya!

Neat way to go about getting 'em... and sounds rather relaxing too. Nice!

Jembi Lake Fly In Trip - A Walleye Factory
Moosebunk replied to fishnsled's topic in General Discussion
Weren't kidding when you said "walleye factory." Not that big a lake really, but it appears loaded. Nice to see you, Joe and the gang had a quality go of it on Jembi. -
The Family Fly In Chronicles - A Trip To Lodge Eighty Eight
Moosebunk replied to solopaddler's topic in General Discussion
Bren is a chip off the old block eh!?! Just awesome to pull a family trip like that together to such a place... Made for quite a report. Congrats on that eye to the little big guy. -
The burn Chris seems to only add to the beauty of that place. Some great shots there, and what a wicked "cabin in the woods" your buddy has for himself.

Quality Pete!

Past couple of weekends - Hunting Largies - New PB for me :)
Moosebunk replied to Leecher's topic in General Discussion
Well done Jacques. Great largies. -
Thanks for posting Rob. Never any interest ever to fish that lake, and many have certainly read about it's walleye issues over the years. McLeod puts a good foot forward with this decision, hoping it helps that fishery.

"Chute"-ing Fish in a Barrel, Nemegosenda Fly-in Report
Moosebunk replied to chris.brock's topic in General Discussion
I'll take that phone number and start with the calls now... maybe in a decade I'll get there too. Seriously tho, great spot off the beaten path up there in some of God's best country. Cool report this one with some dandy fish as well. -
Would like to get it out of the way Chris, but swimming up to me eyeballs in alligators these days. Hoping for a day long window and the energy to escape into what will likely be one huge report.

See last Nipigon report... never had or have issue going solo. Much of my fishing while living in the north was done alone, sometimes for days out by myself, and it's always been time appreciated. Same as now, as shift and contract work leaves much time off midweeks when other's aren't often available to go. It's those solo days when fishing that I find time to think, learn easy, re-energize, and especially tune-in to fishing and the surroundings. Ohhh... and nice to see ya posting here JoePa!

It's even more annoying when you're in a tube, like you are. Has happened a couple times to me as well Brian, except that one time it pushed me to leave an area, kick twenty minutes to cross a lake to a spot that usually sucks, only to find that spot loaded with largies willing to hit a buzzbait. Karma will get you and them back. lol.

Jeebus man! The title wasn't kidding. Sorry to hear. That'd be a heckuva thing to find.

50 main. 40 lead. Pretty well exactly that. This one wasn't Bunked.

Who wouldn't love a day like that? I wouldn't. Only because you didn't have a good breakfast. Quality skiing!

Some time back... back maybe 7 or 8 years ago, someone said something about this lake. And what was said was something about lotsa walleye... but not too many pike. I have a standing invite to stay on Mikwam anytime but haven't been able to swing it. Will look forward to your report as this lake is just a walk over from there.

Some positive vibes to the man!!!

A most spectacular laker from Great Slave Lake NWT... ... though it ain't mine!!! But anyhow, "can somebody help gimme a lift here!" A belly-busting write-up on this will come eventually and rather back-logged now on summer reports too, but they're coming. :? Keep fishing. Bunk.

You're raising that boy up right Simon. Just awesome!!! What little boy wouldn't love everything about that kind of day out with his dad.

what do you carry for first aid / survival / etc
Moosebunk replied to 2 tone z71's topic in General Discussion
Just went thru my First Aid kit last week. It's a small case, maybe 12 X 8 inches. Pulled out a tensor and some prepackaged saline soaked guaze to add some extra skin glues, 3/0, 4/0 and 5/0 Prolene sutures, 10cc syringes, fine 27 guaze 1 1/2 inch needles, and a half dozen amps of Lidocaine 1%. There's some bandages, antiseptics and other things in there as well, but the only times I've opened the kit is to pull out the freezing, inject the sorry angler who got a hook in them or laceration, clean and then sew 'em up. Carry plenty of other things too. Like extra flashlights, (headlamp) lighters, tools and knife, Long trips a small tarp, blanket, plenty rope and spare prop.
