  10. I just started playing around with my Lowrance H2O and MapCreate 6 software today. I had purchased the Canadian Topo CDs. Created a couple maps on my PC and I'm soon ready to transfer them to the GPS unit. The kit came with an 8 mg card, but rather than registering that card (as one of my 5), I'll be picking up a 512mg to use in the unit. So I have not transferred any maps as of yet. For anyone using this software, how big/small are you 'creating' your maps ? What I have done to this point is to Zoom In/Out until the entire area I want is showing on my monitor. Then I create the map border and enter any other information I want to include. For example: I fish out of Wolseley Bay on the French River, so the map I created on my screen would include Wolseley Bay, Five Finders, and the area surrounding Crane's Wilderness lodge. I took this route so that I can create a map for each specific area in which I fish. Then I can load the specific map into the unit's memory and work with something that pertains to the specific area I am in at the time. Would this be a reasonable 'rule of thumb' or would I be better off zooming out and creating a couple larger maps, with one map contain multiple areas in which I fish ? Just curious as to how detailed others are creating maps with MapCreate 6 Thanks in Advance.
  11. Very nice of you indeed to share some hard-water action. From the sounds of it, it may just be a bit more crowded this week-end. Patience may be wearing a bit thin around here.

  13. Now that's a wonderful Christmas !!!
  14. Looks like the real McCoy there. Always more appreciated when you make them yourself. Looks great and be sure to post that 'first fish'.
  15. 1). MapCreate Canadian Topo CD's for my Lowrance H2o. Just finished installing everything on my PC. Now, got to learn how to create the maps and get them onto the SD card. (have to wait until after lunch and all the festivities --- may not be until tomorrow). Then learn the GPS unit itself. 2). Nice solid Oak rack to hold all of my rods. 3). Couple new Shallow Invaders. Caught a very nice pike on one this year and raised a couple ski's on them. Who knows what else is sitting down there ... have to wait a little while longer.
  16. I remember when I was so excited for Christmas morning. Then, once I had kids of my own, I had more fun with the kids. Now, as time rolls on, it is the grandkids. We had four of them here this past Friday and got three others coming in later today. Ahhhhh - the majic of Christmas day.
  17. May the Peace, Love, and Joy be with you ALL this holiday season.

  20. Merry Christmas to all the mods. I can't image the time they put in to keep this board going and getting better all the time. As a Christmas gifts to the mods, let's share the Christmas spirit with each other and give the mods a break. Their families need time too. Merry Christmas to you all .... you are appreciated !
  21. My wife and I work for the same company. This year, as Christmas falls on a Monday ... we get a 4 day week-end. They even broke down and left us leave early this past Friday. Four days off, work three, and then annother three day week-end. I could get used to that ... if the pay stayed the same. Pray for those who do have to work to be safe and bring some Christmas spirit back home to their families.
  22. Ditto .... many times over and again to our troops and their families. I say 'our' ...... collectively for all the troops on both sides of our borders. God Bless Them All and keep them safe !
  23. And a very Merry Christmas to all the OFC'rs
  24. Rizzo ..... if you see someone flying pass you on your way into 2007 ... that would probably be me.
  25. Ahhhh.. Christmas !
