  1. There are many operators on this board. All here for non-commercial reasons I am sure I hope that you get the response you are after. Jim
  2. So, I'm guessing it's a staff discount for all of us? Welcome.
  3. That first picture makes me want to build a cabin somewhere. Anywhere. Thanks for taking the time to create such a fantastic story. Jim
  4. I'm with you home slice. It dawned on me that a lot of the pictures are of items that are not even on sale (just product placement). I'm not saying that there weren't things on sale, but watch when they show a picture of a Rapala, then say "selected items" on sale. Not all Rapalas, only the ones that they let some tosser design that never sold. I am not dissing the mother-ship, I still go for the experience. But deals? Not so much. Jim
  5. I still don't get it.
  6. My buddy Kirk, took his dad out to Vancouver to one of those "fishing trips of a lifetime" (think upscale, flash freeze your catch and fed ex. it home) kind of place. About $5000. in all, but memories that will last forever. Tell your dad congratulations from me, I love to see them get out alive. This story might be the best news to come out of Eastman Kodak that I have heard in some time. Jim PS. You're a good son.
  7. What Dutch fails to mention is that the best thing about a Laundromat is that it is a cash business. Think about the book "The Wealthy Barber", the book that started us all believing that we could be millionaires. The real message in the book should have been that as a barber, you cut 10 guys hair at $10 per. As far as the government knows you were home sick that day.
  8. As with many things in life, four strokes are better than two.
  9. I am far from an expert but try to "match the hatch" with your lures. I they are eating small minnows, throw a small minnow. If they are eating something you don't have, throw a fit. I too am often surprised by the lack of info on how to use certain lures. Rapala is finally moulding some useful info into the lips of their lures (DT 10 for example). But in many cases you are expected to know by the size of the lip how deep it will go etc. But out of the box a Husky Jerk is just a Rapala. You will just have to get out in your new boat and fish the heck out of all of your lures making careful notes as to what does what. Jim
  10. I saw some of the tapes and thought he handled himself well. I was actually as close to proud of one of politicians abroad as I have ever been.
  11. I've got better drawings stuck on my fridge with magnets.
  12. Driving to the end of your street would be too far for a tiller.
  13. If more people spent their money elsewhere the Leafs wouldn't be in the spot they are in now. Why bother spending the money to put a good team on the ice when people are still getting leaf tattoos and naming their babies Wendall and Dougie? If people in the GTA alone (never mind all of Leaf nation) boycotted the Leaf broadcasts on Hockey Night in Canada, Sportsnet, and TSN for six months, you would have a contending team by the next season. Winston Churchill said it best: "Never in the field of human conflict, have generations of people been stupid enough to buy the same dross year after bloody year" At least I think that is what he said. Jim
  14. I know that anything other than salivating over these prizes is frowned upon here, but I hear you Bill. They had a lovely display set up at the show, the colours were amazing. But I couldn't help but think they looked too....shiney or something. Like you caught a neon sign of a fish. Maybe the coat of dust it would be wearing in my house in no time would take some of the shine off. Jim
  15. I'm with Jer on this (to the letter actually), any extra goes to debt reduction. My emergency stash is the equity in the house. Congrats Dan if you manage to have 25% left over at the end of the month. Jim
  16. For a minute there I thought you actually had something. Then I realized that you didn't say "bar tending".
  17. With or without the hat?
  18. Congratulations brother! Jim
  19. Did you hear that Lew bought a boat!
  20. Those are fantastic photos. Thanks for sharing them. And good on ya for getting out. Jim
  21. I do not know about either of the model numbers that you have mentioned, but I have an Ifinder H2OC and the learning curve is steep. Loaded with features that the space shuttle might use. Me, not so much. Jim
  22. Why don't you email Lowrance. Then you can wait three weeks for some stock (and completely bogus) answer that will put you off completely and make you want to make nasty posts on websites. I would write more but I am busy working on the PHD that is required to run my new H2OC. Good Luck, Jim
