  2. Did you drive through Caledonia on your way home? I passed someone pulling a Pricecraft side console (black truck?) while I was jogging today (around 4:00 or so). Jim
  3. I got a pair of polarized prescription Ray Bans this time around. I am hoping that they work well on the water. What I find when I wear them though is that my eyes sort of sting. I am not sure if it is whatever they put on them to polarize them or what (or it's just my imagination). Jim
  4. Truer words were never spoken. And same if it's 3500 feet of shoreline. Jim
  5. Hey Stue, Launching at Pier 4 is a treat. The launch and docks are fantastic and there are ample double length parking spots for car and trailer. It really has been designed and built well. It can be rough at times but you just drive down and take a look, if it is too rough you try again another day. There is so much room down there turning around and coming home is no biggy. I think you'll like it (it will likely be where I take mine for the spring shake-down cruise). Jim
  6. I am talking about being compared to their US website in both quality and quantity. If you think that the Canadian site is not too bad, check out the US one. You'll wet your pants. Jim
  7. Based on this thread I have just checked out the Cabela's Canada web site. There is more selection in the general store/gas station in Emsdale. Holy doodle man! Did they promote the janitor to web master or what? It looks like a half 'ed effort at best. We deserve better than to be thrown a bone with so little meat. Go Le Baron!! Jim
  8. Okay, so you tip a guide. What is a reasonable tip for a guide (percentage)? And if you hire a guide on a lake (not at a resort) do you tip them or is it like not tipping the barber (cause he owns the shop and gets all the money anyway)? Thanks again, Jim
  9. Looks like a nice job from here. Jim
  10. I was watching Ramble hanging around with Pete Bowman again today (for the 200th time, I feel like I know Dave better than his mom) and it got me wondering a couple of things about guides. How much is it (typically) to hire a guide? Do you tip them at the end of the day/week? Does every guide make you a shore lunch, or is that just on TV? If one is new to a lake (say Rice Lake, or Sturgeon) would you all recommend hiring a guide for a day to show you some spots/techniques for the week? If you are using a guide for the day when you are staying for the week, will they load you up with a weeks worth of spots and tips, or would that be job security suicide? Does it make me less of a man if I hire a guide instead of pretending that I know enough to find fish on my own? Has anyone ever hired a guide on a lake that wasn't from a resort that they were staying at? Thanks in advance all! Jim
  11. Another classic. Thanks for taking the time. Jim
  12. Thanks, I'm feeling more well rested already Jim
  13. Is this the same guy as Ugly was mentioning? I looked at them in La Baron and the selection seems a little shy (in the catalogue at least). I was looking for a new Walleye rig and didn't think anything in that line matched up to what I thought I wanted (a 6'6" med. light, fast action). I finished up with the St. Croix (I cheaped out and bought the Triumph and do feel bad for not supporting NA manufacturing). Jim
  14. Great story! Want to buy tackle now? Try giving up the Timmies, that will free up 30.00/month for most people. Love that story, congratulations. Jim
  15. Well done Diggy! Congrats. Jim
  16. Wow!! What an adventure and what a report. You rule man! Wow for sure. Thanks very much for taking the time to put this together. Jim
  17. My God she's stunning.
  18. Nevermind! Jim
  19. You know that they are made by the same company, right? That may sound like a dopey question, but you need to know that you are getting Lowrance quality (or lack of, depending on your take) in both products. I was not aware until I saw them together at the fishing show and said "hey, wait a tick..." Remember, I'm gifted. Jim
  20. Less filling! (ok, who remembers that?)
  21. Great shots. I hope you were working inside. Thanks for sharing. Jim
  22. I'll keep my eyes peeled and thanks for the invite. I'll see you for sure. Jim
  23. Many returns of the day! Jim
  24. Ugly in stereo! Double ugly, I am such a catfish wimp it's not even funny. Good on ya! Jim
