  1. WTG! Nice fish you got there, thanks for the report.
  2. Always wanted to try Cameron, as I hardly have luck in Balsam (gotta get to and from the lift lock during "peak" times). Thanks for the report.
  3. I beleive beer is allowed in the boat in Quebec. Either that or I had a really good time there, lol.
  4. Bombshell, that sux dude. At the chance it may work out, or not, I wish you all the best in the times ahead.
  5. Very cool photos SNAG.
  6. The French is a beautiful place and even with no ski's, sounds like you took to it HARD. I have trouble finding ski's on the French myself. No worries, plenty of time as Lew said. Better luck next time. reefrunner
  7. I find the grip that Raf demonstrated above would best apply to your situation. It is pretty intimidating. On a personal note, I caught a 35lbs to 40lbs out of the moon basin a couple years back in a canoe and was faced with the same situation you are envisioning. In this instance, we just headed to shore, which was maybe 20 feet away, and got out and released her in knee deep water as I didn't want to risk flipping the canoe. Would a cradle be too much in a yak? I've never fished from a yak. reefrunner
  8. Too bad you didn't get those inches in for team 9 bud. Always another day and another cast available. Good to get out there regardless. Hmmmn, maybe I should rig up a prop with some trebles and a snap swivel this week......
  9. I had the same question back in January. With the help of some fine advice here, I ended up getting an Abu Garcia 6501C3. Suffice to say, I'm lovin' it.
  10. Nice fish. Personally, I would have had used the phillips head on the porcupine, lol. Wdzięczności za rozdzielanie. reefrunner
  11. Looks like those hours paid off in musky. Congrats, I've yet to get one on topwater, that must've been quite the experience. Onions
  12. Fantastic Congrats on the first 'ski. At $10-20 a lure, I'd go for a dip on a hot day.lol
  13. No fishing unfortunately and to the detrement of team 9. I will be studying for an exam to be held 16 June 2008....so until then, just day dreaming of musky and buying lures, lol.
  14. Maybe they'll show up to the court room to, lol.
  15. Nice eater. Good job.
  16. Cool report. Sucks about the prop, but as you say, "poop happens". Nice mixed bag there and the moneyshot..... stomach: "grrrroowwwwwllllll" lol. Thanks for the report. Looking forward to the seminar.
  17. It is true, I live in the city and my opinion is influenced in that regard. Your experience and input is appreciated and I have learned much from your prespective. Thanks. reefrunner
  18. LOL. That is freakin' hillarious. Fish the shallow end earlier in the year, you'll have bettr luck...lol Great discussion.
  19. Yup, I stand corrected, thanks Dan. I knew he looked familiar, just couldn't put a handle on the face...lol.
  20. Congrats on the new ride. Many stories to come will be borne from that haul. Hope you and the family get much enjoyment out of the craft.
  21. I think that where and how the line is tied onto the lure is a major factor in it's performance in the water, but not necessarily "the" factor that will trigger a strike. You'll notice that most bottom bouncing jigs have a 60degree angle on the eye which, supposedly, positions the bait so it is easy to scoop up by fish at a natural angle. Also, you've mentioned that different position of the knot, adding a split ring produces variable action on a specific lure. If it's not running "true", than a tweak or change and pending results will determine if you keep it in the water longer. Confidence in the bait you are using = keeping it the strike zone, will intice an instinctual strike response. If the fish aren't interested, it's other factors that come to play, not a commentary on your presentation. Now get to the lake, stop casting in the pool....lol. reefrunner
  22. Didn't have guides for the day, but they dropped us off at a "kickdonkey" smallmouth lake deep in the bush up in Gowganda years back. Easily 50-100 smallmouth each in a day. Weather couldn't have been nicer, no one around for at least 50km and a wonderful mid-day island shore lunch and swim. That was a good day indeed.
  23. Wow, nice one. Well informed and written report. Thanks
  24. Thank those who gave up the ultimate sacrifce upon the alter of freedom, and we as a greatful nation will forever be in their debt.
  25. To mention a few in this issue Justin Hoffman Mark Kulick and I think that's an OFNer releasing a big pike on Kesagami (Scuro?)
