Seen any good movies lately
Musky Plug replied to Old Ironmaker's topic in Non-Outdoors Open Discussion
The BBC channel is also free right now on fibe. All day documentaries with David Attenborough. He could talk about grass growing and I would listen. Watched the new Star Wars IX on the box last night. Good watch, would give it a 4/5. -
Yes I would only like to this once. Should I replace the old panel with the Blue Sea one or should I put it in addition to the old? If I did go that route and add another fuse panel, would I have to add additional inline fuses for each unit? Out of the box they don't come with any. Wouldn't the panel fuses be enough? Wouldn't it be better to have less breaks in the wire? If I did wire them direct to the battery would having the original fuse panel, 3 graphs and a charger be too many connections on one battery?
-
I will put an inline fuse if do the direct connection to the battery. If I put shrink tube over the crimp connections wouldn't it make it moisture proof as well? What size crank battery do you have? As I will be running the same size graphs.
-
Is 6 gauge wire to heavy of a gauge? Humminbird website says with the longest runs I should use 12G for both units with an inline fuse, 3amp for the 7's and 4amp for the 9. Will coiling up the transducer wire and taping the coil together cause interference? Unfortunately I don't have enough room to have a second battery for just the accessories. So I would out the graphs on first then the bank charger on top?

Seen any good movies lately

Lmao Just finished watching 1917. Was a decent movie out of 5 I would give it a 3. Ok movie overall, cinematics and story were good. Just a few parts didn't sit well. Also watched the Coldest Game last night on Netflix. That was pretty good too. An alcoholic mathematician trying to stop the cold war lol. Not bad overall I'd give it a 3. Ford v Ferrari is on the list to watch. -
Hey guys, my question is, should I wire the graphs into the fuse box of the boat or should I direct connect them to the crank battery? I have just enough space for everything on the fuse box however I've read conflicting reports that when starting the motor it may or may not cause the graphs to power down. If I do connect the graphs to the box what gauge wire should there be from the battery to the fuse box as it would be full at that point. I'm unsure what I should do. If I go the battery route, that would be three graphs and an on-board charger on the crank. Is that too many things? Any info is helpful as this is my first attempt.

I stand corrected.

Ice may be gone, however I'm pretty sure pike season is closed until May there. I could be wrong, but there is a billboard in the parking lot with the regs/info. The harbour could be a good choice, around the Williams/Pier 4 area. If the season is open.

Toronto Sportsman Show - Cancelled
Musky Plug replied to SmokestackLightnin's topic in General Discussion
Which is more of a bummer to me then the sportsman show as that happens every year and this is every other year. Was hoping to get my hands on a few new baits that I don't have. More than likely now all of the bait makers are going to raffle off their baits online, which I think is stupid. -
You should also check out Doug Vahrenberg's channel on youtube. His channel is primarily about HB units. I found him helpful.

Toronto Sportsman Show - Cancelled

The Musky Odyssey is also cancelled, I have just read online. -
They’re pretty good units I have 2 of them. No complaints here about them. I would say before you install it in your rig get a small 12v battery hook it up and mess around with the unit in simulation mode. That way you can get a better feel for settings you might like and when it comes to open water you’ll be better prepared and dial it in that much easier. Actually only one complaint you can’t display time, bearing, speed and water temp at the same time on those units only 3 of them. That bugs me a little other then that it pretty sweet.

Finally got to watch the final two episodes along with the Q&A video after. Some parts were intense, but overall I thought it was a great series. Team Manitoba clutched a few fish that saved them and got them the W. Would've liked to see Taro and Paul win the show but that's fishing. In the Q&A video they did touch on couple things like the fly in fishing and gave a good explanation. All in all I thought it was a great series and looking forward to season 3.

I like this idea but who knows the actual amount if any that makes it there.

I don't fish tournaments and have no ambition to but I disagree with this statement. Tournaments can be a good thing for a local economy. Bringing people who wouldn't normally visit the area to that specific area and spend money. On the flip side I understand I think tourney's should make the move to the MLF style format with the fish released immediately after caught to stop delayed mortality or fish dying in a heated box. However I can appreciate the "weigh in" portion of the tournaments can be a crowd draw too. I fish a few lakes in the Waubaushene area that I think that have been directly affected by tournaments. SMB and LMB are virtually none existent in a lake and some what in the connecting lakes that I go to that used to have them and you could catch them frequently. Some of the locals also seem to think this as well as very few participants of the tournaments used to fish the lakes but since the word got out more and more participants fish them during the tournaments and take the fish and they don't return. Agreed.

It is a good place for information however sometimes people can get bend out of shape when talking about topics like fishing OOS. I think your question while completely innocent rubbed a few the wrong way.

Was it Pro Tackle? I saw the booth as I walked in but forgot to check it out before I left. Pretty good price for the net. I like the rubber coated mesh, that pretty sweet. Will definitely help when you’re by yourself.
-
Sweet net, which booth did you find that at? I was only able to spend couple hours there Saturday morning. Wasn't to busy then but got some pretty good Megabass stuff from Pro J’s and some other stuff from other vendors that my local places don’t have. Also chatted with the Oliver guy from BigBassDreams YouTube channel about musky fishing for a little bit. Seemed like a nice guy. I thought it was a decent show although I didn’t get to spend as much time as I wanted there.

I'm in the wrong line of work. Maybe I should consider career change...
-
Agreed. Can you say which Youtube channel it is?
-
Forsure. When all those guys started they did all the filming and editing themselves. They've only started having other people film and edit over the last couple years, after they had blown up.
-
so would I! lol.
-
Yes, I would agree that there are a lot of people getting rich but I would say that Aaron isn’t one of them. He may be doing well but I wouldn’t say getting rich. Just because you have a channel doesn’t mean you rake in the cash. The only people that I’m aware of that make that kind of money from YouTube in the fishing niche are the Googan kids. I read an article a while ago that the Jon b kid and Rob we’re making approximately $10k american a month. However they were uploading a few times a week with couple hundred thousand views per video.

Show us a pic of your fishing boat

Yes I would be in 100%. We will have set something up for-sure! The launch has been getting better over the past couple years with the addition of the johnny on the spot and regular picking up pf the garbage. The locals who have houses adjacent to the launch are not pleased from what I've heard about the cleanliness and the people who use it. -
Though decision to make! I'm sure it will work out for the best!
