Thanks Bob - good info on GM, Novi. I've added Sportsmans to the route as well. I don't know if I can hit 'em all but I want to try! -Brian

10-4! Enjoy your trip John, send me a post card. Actually, screw that! email me some pictures! -Brian

Just got back from getting a reel spooled...
SlowPoke replied to Wendel's topic in General Discussion
I hope they didn't charge you for installation - the rod on the right has the reel on backwards. Are those the new Rapala linecounters? -Brian -
My wife and kids are taking me for a tackle shopping spree in Michigan next weekend. We're leaving Friday and intend to cross at Port Huron making our way to Dundee for diner and hotel. We are considering... Gander - Port Huron Bass Pro - Auburn Hills Cabela's - Dundee Should we consider a different Gander Mountain outlet - are some better than others? Are there any other fishing stores we should check out? -Brian

I wouldn't advise that. The best thing that can happen is that it rattles out and hits your boat. The worst thing that can happen is it rattles out and hits my boat! -Brian

Great report! I'm glad you're happy with your ride, you put some real thinking and effort into it! -Brian

Riveting report, I was on the edge of my seat for the whole account. Oh, you're chartering now... I see. -Brian

Stop using the 6/0 sibiki rig!

You might not have enough tongue weight. Try putting a 14" bandsaw on your casting deck and take a drive to London! A little play is normal - these aren't exactly precision crafted parts and it will ease removal. -Brian

Good job Rich & Sleded! -Brian

I switched to 30lb Power Pro on my rigger rods. It greatly reduces line billowing between the rod tip and the release and they pop a lot easier on light strikes (wimpy walleye). -Brian

Welcome back Garry - I shovelled your driveway on Sunday. -Brian

Nice boat! I think that 50HP will push it along just fine! -Brian

Since we're all eulogizing Jos, I will add something about him. One very busy day at the old store we were discussing electronics and he pardoned himself for a moment to speak with someone that had come into the store. This person did not look like a fisherman but someone down on his luck. Only a couple feet away it was hard not to overhear the conversation and it was one of his tennants from upstairs where Jos also lives. It was a rent issue and Jos was clearly more interested in this man's well being than a rent cheque. I get the impression that Jos can sleep very well at night knowing all the people he's helped out during the day.

Let's face it folks, this is a fun tourney... no entry fee, no prizes, just bragging rights. Adding "2008" to the OFC logo only prevents cheaters from entering fish caught from previous years. If we don't even need a measurement in the photo it leaves a lot of room for cheating. I see why you would want OFC in the photo, it promotes the site. Beyond that I think is taking things a little too seriously. -Brian

Good morning Bill, I hope the headache is gone. Time for me to hit the sack too! -Brian

Two things shock me about this statement... - that it was only 50 employees (for now) - they're selling the company jet/hanger Selling the jet/hanger probably offset further layoffs in the hundreds over a long term. It sounds like a good faith, proactive move and it sends a good... errr.. a better message to the employees and public. As for manufacturing in China; nobody likes to see jobs leaving the country and outsourcing but clearly this about stopping the bleeding and not maximizing profits. The sad part is that jobs won't likely return when the economy rebounds. -Brian

It's better than Lake Erie? hehehe Nice post & pic's... made me feel a little warmer! Nice to meet you and Steve today... oh and my right foot has finally thawed out! -Brian

Happy Birthday Carole! May all your wishes turn into big fishes! -Brian

This is why we have a safety chain in addition to the winch strap. Transom tie downs are also ideal as they cinch the boat forward into the bow snubber. -Brian

Nice report Rich! I'm itching to get out, PM me and maybe we can hook-up this weekend if you're interested. My schedule is sketchy at this point. -Brian

Terry, sorry to hear bud. That's an awesome machine and will certainly catch my attention if it goes by. If karma has anything to do with this we'll read about this guy going out on Simcoe and getting stranded on an ice float. Good luck Terry! -Brian

Ive been using Yahoo for years now. I started that account when selling on eBay and back then it eliminated so much spam.... probably 95%+. I suspect it's as good now as it was then because I only receive maybe 2-3 unfiltered spam messages. I may go back to my hotmail account soon though... running out "enlargement cream". -Brian

My thoughts exactly! Matthew, very generous to of you to include the other participants and I've sent you an email requesting a second diver at my cost. Looking forward to trying them out! Joey, congrats... again. You're CLEARLY the favourite around here! You've won everything but the 2007 OFC Tournament -Brian
