  1. Sorry I could not make it to be the camera man for ya Brian I did get a lot of stuff built here so next trip you have to stop in and yes that boat is looking great I am very sorry for taking you away from it all last season.Congrats on two nice skies and yes you should have changed the hooks and got it back out I don't know why you would not want to run what is working I think you have spent to many days on Lake O this season BTW you should have come over to dads there was a extra T bone cooked with no one to eat it
  2. Rolly try dragging tubes smoke color or red flake even white if that does not work try just using gulp worms on a bottom bouncer or just split shot them along the bottom slow. deeper water 14-18' is where we get them I dont target them but do get them when were out for eye's. Send lunker777 a PM his name is Tyler he lives here in Chatham and might be able to help as he loves Bass.
  3. Congrats Dad I hope she grows up in the boat and makes a good partner for you hope her and mom are doing well. Cheers Mike

Dang now thats a report and some amazing fishing guys congrats for sure I would not be ashamed of keeping a hog like that for the wall I really enjoyed reading this report thanks for sharing Mike P.S. what were the GPS marks for that spot (not that i want to go there but n=more so I dont wait time looking for the big girl)
  5. Congratz on a great day on the water with you dad keep them days going and take advantage of them all. I love these posts I hope others who read this that say dad and I should but don't do it, for get about the should and just do it get him out these are the days to remember and out fishing him is just the way it should be. BTW as a father I must say its hard to let the kids OUT FISH THE OLD MAN but us dads have to let the kids win some times to keep them interested, well that's what my father passed along to me from when I was a kid Cheers Mike
  6. Dang that is one heck of a good day out congrats to the Boys and good luck to the wife today Cheers Mike
  7. Congrats for sure and if your around here you will find out that some times we need to YELL at TERRY to get him going in the am JK If I were you just let the wife bring what she needs as most guys would kill to have a wife that joins them fishing or at least lets them go fishing. I to am one that is lucky to have a wife that loves to get out fishing it sure is nice to get out with the family and you never to late to get your first boat. We also like lots of pics here on the site from your fishing trips so bring the camera if needed Terry ca help edit in the fish Cheers Mike
  8. Ryan I don't think the family and I can make it but I will send you some of my HandlebarZ inline flashabou musky lures for the prize table shoot me a place to send them to and they will get out next week some time.
  9. Cant help you out with Bass but if you want to get out musky fishing I would share the boat with ya for a day if I am around but then again I guess its not that hard to drag tubes or cast small spinner baits along the weeds always worked before.

  11. Well we received a new thingy from Bell it was to replace our old out dated thingy that you plug into the telephone cable well since we changed over to this thingy our net is very SLOW and I am not happy we don't download much so we should not have been dinged by that other thing they were doing to slow people down. What ever they did I am not happy and need some ideas for places to look for a different provider for faster service or what to ask them about when I call again about this it takes way to long for OFC pages to load I know dads dial up is fast then we have right now. Sorry for the rant just a little not happy right now with them Cheers Mike
  12. Now I know why your boat is not ready yet and I bet your wife did not need them done as fast as you needed the boat ready
  13. Here in LSC we do a lot of trolling I try mu luck with casting but have not had much luck later in the year its good but summer time trolling is the key here. You don't need the dipsy's or down riggers they are over kill as you will be fishing 12-18FOW and your lures will be running 3-12' down. Your rods should be good just upgrade your leaders to 80lbs florocarbon (if you need I might be able to help you out with them) try and make them 5-6' long this way you can run a lead weight in front of them to get the lures down some. I like canon ball style weights 1oz-4oz is the common ones but we do use up to 1Lbs to get a lure down in the prop wash.We clip them on the leader where it attaches to the main line this way it also acts like a weed guard and keeps them from your lures even if the line is loaded with weeds the lures usually stay clean. (I also make them 1oz-4oz if you need them I have lots and they don't cost much at all) Speeds I start off each day around 3.5mph but do fish up to 5mph every trip and way beyond if things are slow. Target the break lines or contour lines if you have a GPS and a chip for the lake if not have a look at this site it has some great info for mapping the lake and shows you the exact spot that you are looking at so you can mark them in your GPS. http://www.marinecruiser.com/chart.html I like to use woodies 6 1/4" they produce a lot of fish for my boat and many others here they are made in Windsor color patterns I like would be frog's olive, blue or dark frog Perch patterns with yellow belly or white belly, Special perch is a amazing color and takes many fish each year Black perch is also one of the go to colors try to stick to the "meat and potatoes" colors natural bait fish, browns, blacks and greens but always bring along something crazy for them early or late day fish. I also run Jakes nils master 10" lures. I know many use super shad raps and do well with them again same color patterns you can use a lot of different baits they all have there day. I run my own flashabou inline lures and have had some nice success this year with them they are a double 8 colorado blade version of the cowgirl. We use planer boards so if you have some inline ones bring them as they will help you out a lot. For my first set up for the day with 4 rods I will run two board rods 1 with 2oz and 30' of line the other 2oz 20' of line then the boat rods will have 2-4oz and 10-40' of line depending on my mood. Also look for water color here if its very dirty look for the clean edges as the bait fish here will be stacked there and the big fish follow. I like a stained water and work it hard east west north south and pay attention to the speed direction and line out so that if you get into a fish you can do it all over again. The water temps have been high this year so please remember to try and keep the out of water time short. What week are you coming down? I have a few days off early Aug and will be out if the weather is on for that time. I can also give you the majors and minors for the days your here they do work a lot some laugh about it but they do work amazing. As for pickerel and bows you will be better off on Erie they eyes are here but from what I heard they are in the rivers across the lake as the temps got to hot to fast but then again I ahve not chased them this year so I am not much help there. If ya have some questions I can help just shoot me a PM cheers Mike
  14. Well lets see how many days late we can keep this thread going for this old bugger Happy B-day. Hope you had a great day Roy
  15. That was cool Tj but I think that ch312 has it wrong there you can take your time fighting a fish to get it in and as for stress on this fish I think it made out just right the bigger question is why Tj does not listen to his mother maybe one day he will stop playing with his food I could just imagine a swift backhand if ya lost dinner there Tj.
  16. I will help you out for LSC musky I think we have some good ideas to pass along but a bit tired right now I am off to bed again will try and remember tomorrow for now here is one you can look for she is still roaming around the 15' mark west of the thames out in the lake.Heck maybe we can get out for a bit if not please PM me just before the trip so we can help out with the latest info for ya.
  17. We have been going to Cameron Lake for years now and love it they have tenting and boats there they you can fish right in front of there place for eye's crappie bass and pan fish this is a smaller lake and lots of shelter no matter what direction the wind is coming from. Give them a call you will love it for sure. They also have a big area for playing in volly ball new and a private small beach Sunny Acres Trailer ParkRR 1, Fenelon Falls, ON K0M 1N0(705) 887-3416‎
  18. nice ski for sure congrats on the first hope ya get some more.

  20. We have always had them as kids here in the SW Ontario we would find there shells by the 100's all of us boys would head home with them covered on our shirts daily and you would always have to place them on your sister or mom just because we were boys. I did find that they liked maple trees best as my house would have lots but a friend would have none on his tree I dont know what kind maybe oak. I still here them but we dont have a maple tree so I dont find the shells I guess if I were to head to my neighbours house where I here them from I could get some shells for my son but then again the wife would kill me
  21. Call Angling out fitter they have some amazing things there he was just showing me the new ones for 2010 that have 1 foot contours and his prices are about the best around and he know Lowrance like the back of his hand you will not leave dissapointed.
  22. New season of Getting School'd to see what is new out there I gues with the cheap prices on flights it might be worth the plane ride from Detroit one of these years to go check it out.
  23. not sure what happened but am glad every one is Ok and they did not have a live well full of fish to go bad all over the road Not to change the subject and I am one to fully support the OPP Local Police and MNR to be out there but they need some MAJOR training for safe boating. I will try and make this a short story. Two seasons ago I was up at Lakair with a bunch of ONFers we were heading for shore lunch with Kevin (he was in his own boat) and had just talked to the MNR and OPP they were in a boat just ahead of us the boat I was in was Brand new well the OPP boat comes right over to use at a high rate of speed he could not stop we had my self my daughter My VERY OLD friend and his young wife on his boat I had to lean way out over the boat to try and stop this OPP from bashing us it did not stop them all the way I did hurt my back and yes it was stupid to try and stop them but they turned around and came in to us very fast again I was not pleased at all WTH were they trying to prove? I could under stand if they saw us breaking the law or trying to run away we were stopped to wait for them to pass by in a narrow section of the lake. Sorry for the rant I like to see them out there but feel that they need to have some major training before getting out on the water.
  24. Dang Jp that sure sound like on hell of a ride glad to here you and Greg are Ok I guess that means I should get my teather out I keep putting off the self inflating life jacket but maybe its time to get one.
