  1. I've caught a few largies ice fishing in hamilton harbour and some of the conservation areas around. They always hit tiny crappie jigs, but are not aggressive at all when doing so. Seen smallies caught in binbrook throught the ice quite often.
  2. My buddy and I marked a sucken sailboat in hamilton harbour with it lol.
  3. Small jigs, jiggin raps and spoons in various sizes.
  4. Happened minutes from my house, on trails I have walked hundreds of times. Sorry to hear u knew him bruce!
  5. Its pretty much gonna come down to what u prefer. I fish erie a ton, and I dropshot there 98% of the time out there, I prefer flouro. But like I mentioned, I have another rod with braid and a flouro leader, I've caught fish on both, lots of fish and lots of big fish. I've never been a big believer of line visibility. If fish wanna eat the bait, they will reguardless of what line u have.
  6. 8lb flouro. 20lb braid is over kill. When I do run braid as a main line, which is rarely, but been doin it lately, only on a backup rod because that's wjat was spooled on the reel, 10-15lb braid, and tied that to 8-10lb flouro. With about 10' length of flouro. If ur worried about line twist, don't be... Its enevitable. No matter what u do, u'll get some twist, best way to fight it, spool ur line on correctly, and learn to back reel when fighting fish. No need for heavy line, if ur fishing deep open water, there's nuthin to break u off. Fight the fish properly, and u have no problems.
  7. jerkbaits. Husky jerks, original floaters, x raps, anythin of that sort will get u fish.
  8. Was a great game and a great series! Being a braves fan, kinda sours me to see st. Louis win, my dad and brother are cards fans. But I do like the cards, living in hamilton, way back we used to have the cards AAA minor league team here, so I have a soft spot for the club.
  9. Make sure u LOOSEN the drag on all the reels that u are storing!! That's the most important thing. If u keep the drags set tight u will/could compress the drag discs and they can warp and stick, essentially screwing up ur drag and costing u for replacement parts
  10. fish are fine to eat from there. No different then anywhere else in lake O. White spinnerbait is very productive. Top waters will land some bass, texas rigged plastics as well. Crankbaits should get u a few different species rite now. Cover as much water as u possibly can, u'll get rewarded. Minnows are great as well
  11. Opposite, wherever u fish, fast moving baits and don't be scared to go bigger. Fish are putting on the feed rite now.
  12. Actually, the past couple seasons they have outshot their opponent in most of the games. And shots against don't necessarily mean bad defense. Most of those 32 shots, were poor quality shots. Its scoring chances, not shots that are a more telling stat.
  13. It wasn't that montreal play awful. The leafs just played that much better periods 2 and 3. They all skated, back checked, blocked shots, moved the puck well, and defensive zone coverage was excellant. Lots of hitting too! Komisarek played his best game as a leaf last nite. Should have been one of the 3 stars.
  14. I seen a 30+lb carp in the grand river inhale a hot n tot while trolling for walleye. Had the whole bait down its throat
  15. Yup, I would highly reccommend going out with bob! He's a stand up guy, great to spend a day on the water with!
  16. I wanna see the rays win, simply because they built they're team from the inside, drafting and growing players, and adding the rite piece here and there via trade and free agents. Young team that dealt with the lows of rebuilding. And mostly I hate the yankees with a freakin passion!! Cards could do it too. I'm a die hard braves fan, so that was a tough month of ball to watch. Players get hurt and it cost them big time! Can't lose 2 starters from ur rotation, and expect to keep winning. Its tough to over come that. Next year I guess!! (Good thing I'm used to this, being a leaf fan and all...)
  17. Worst nite of watchin baseball EVER!
  18. Hahaha, let's just hope the franny treats u better then long point did me!! Good luck bro!
  19. No one wants to talk to u marvin!!
  20. Lol thanks marvin. Ill get ahold of one of them. And it wasn't user error... Jackass. Lol All I can think is maybe the little guy dropping it and somethin screwed up. And terry, I did both a hard and soft reset and still nuthin.
  21. K so have the unit mentioned in the title. Haven't put it to too much use. Marked a few spots and most recent use of it was in winter while fishing a new lake I marked my location and my truck incase there was a storm or somethin, I could get to shore. So, after that, the batteries came out and I hadn't turned it on till summer. When I did, the display came on upside down, and backwards... The unit works perfectly fine, shows all the info and maps, but its upsidedown and backwards. Making it virtually useless. Anyone experience this, or better yet have a solution?!
  22. They are the same price in canada. Although they are so much uglier than the old models and the graphite body is a step down too
  23. It is a strict catch and release policy for all bass, pike and walleye. U may keep crappie, perch. Bluegill catfish and carp.
  24. Sad to see ya go, always loved the reports from simcoe and the big brown bass there!! But I know how u feel, I fish and play hockey, baseball and golf and it cuts into the family time, to the point my fiance also gets mad and for that I have had to cut down the amout of fishing I do, pretty much limited to tournies, and hockey is out as well. Ill be lookin for ya in a few years to be back. When will u be selling the boat? I'm hoping to get one, the lady got her engagement ring, and she said once she gets that, I'm allowed to get a boat! Lol
