an age old discussion could come of your report ,, quantity or quality . 30 lakers of any size to me is an incredible day on the ice . sleddin' to remote lakes , catchin' greys and warmin' to an open fire is a hell of a day in my books. well done . congrats . thanks for read. look forward to your pic's

congrats on the new boat. great news ,,that's a whole new freedom , fish whenever ,, wherever. i disagree guys ,sorry ,, have some pride in the first of many boats . $6 or $7 bucks get some paint-remover ,, bring her back down to alum-silver ,, touch up the less than perfect areas with a can of silver car paint from cantire ,, like new !! if she gets some battle scars ,,quick blast of silver paint ,, beautiful again. give her a name ,, have a blast doin' it.

this private reservoir had a great fishery to offer the paying public. ive caught bows at 20in. , specks 14in , perch 11in. browns 12in. there have been larger fish of each species caught in this small spring-fed lake that has it's own ,wild minnows reproducing naturally. there are also walleye in the deeper areas in the center [so i'm told] . brought my 10 yr. old daughter out for the day , [6 years ago] we had a blast. great place to take a young one ,, even have huts to rent or bring your own in you like. we got bit none stop for a couple of hours on our first day ,now we're hooked. $30 enrty, 5 trout [any combination]20 perch ,i forget the wally limit . pricy , but it was 2 minutes from the house at the time, no gas , no travel time and pretty much guaranteed fish for young fisherman. summer in the sports pal was a good time as well. the bows couldn't resist a blue ,blue fox with silver blade. beautiful ,quiet,,you forgot how close you were to a town center. i haven't been back since the summer of '05 and i'm just wondering how the fishing is and if the wolves and other wildlife are still living under daniel's care.

Truck goes through the ice!!!!!!!!!
waterwolf replied to Whitespinnerbait's topic in General Discussion
hey guys , this seems funny at first glance ,for sure, but there's another side to this ugly coin i'm sure . imagine comin' home to explain to your family that $30,000 0r more has vanished from the nest-egg, our truck. bad judgement ,, ofcourse ,, bad luck ,, that too!! poor bugger. live with that everyday on a moderate income ,,,that's tough . -
it's only getting worse . the influx of new inducties into the realm of being a true canadian hasn't done the eco any good to say the least. it's a repeat of the beginning of the 20th century. " let's go see and experience the wonder of the great wild , outdoors. " or " oh leave the trash , someones's getting paid to pick that up" . now it seems those who can't afford the energy to pull up their pants to hide their ass-crack share the same lack of drive to remove the trash they discard. it's become very clear ,it's a ME ,,NOW,generation. no perfect parents out there , myself included , but my teenaged daughter is very aware that litter and eco-ignorance is no longer working .

cheers to mom for the extra help . makes it difficult when daycare shut-downs don't coincide with work shut-downs. thank goodness for my daughters' aunt , she was my saviour many times thanks to her flexible hours. very sorry to hear of your loss .

hey jacques , that's one of the strong points to the super braid , very little fade. strenghth is awesome ,,no fray,, casting is great. not a share holder, in case you were wondering.
-
great lookin' trout ,, love the colours on those fish . naturals you say ? makes it all the more sweet. the lakers i've been lucky enough to ice in the south are a little lighter . those white tips really stand out ,, beautiful strain of trout . nice report.

having never used power pro ,can't give an opinion on this product. went to BPS lookin' for stren superbraid on the boxing day sale and understandably ,they were sold out. the staff rep said that everyone is using power pro ,,"try it,, very popular". spyed a new stren product ,sonic braid. didn't really need line , bought some ,just in case. question is tossed to those who have used both power pro and super braid ,, what is your preferred line ?? i have to say that i'm very satisfied with super braid ,, your arguement will need to be strong to sway me.

sorry ,, great to know they're open ,, but what's the damage on the minna's . i'm not all that concerned with prices ,, i agree that being open at 5:00 am comes with a price . just how bad you get screwed is the fine line for repeat business. just like tradin' cards back in the day ,, got 'em ,got 'em ,, NEED 'EM!!!!

waterwolf replied to Slayingm's topic in General Discussion
got a couple foxxies from santa ,but those trigger-X add a little extra to the presentation.will be picking some up . thanks. nice healthy ,beautifully colored perch there. great update on the ice cond's and the new tackle . well done ,keep it comin' . -
clamp-it ,,you're nuts,,

i feel for you marcus,, that level of service shouldn't happen at a business of that calibre. if i had the time ,, i'd love to work at bps , for a few reasons , one of which is to help those who have questions much like yours . getting help purchasing a gift for grandad shouldn't be so difficult. i've had some really great experiences with bps staff,, but there have also been a few uglies . overall they'll still get the bulk of my outdoors dollars ,,great sales,,. huge inventory.

just bought a power auger but will prefer to use my finbore 8in. on light duty days . new blades , she cuts very well,, the off -set handles work for me 'cause i can use opposite muscle momentum to get the job done .cutting 7-8in. of ice ,, i can usually cut 3-4 holes before stopping for a break[beer]. it's early though
-
patience ,, get the lures you really feel good about ,, otherwise they sit in the box ,dry . tough to get a hit that way ,,no?? good luck

What special boxing deal did you get?
waterwolf replied to okumasheffield's topic in General Discussion
got to BPS at 9:30 , just in time for the 2nd skid of strikemasters to hit the floor[ i was told they were gone] . my first power auger. let the laziness begin,, oh yeah. the only reason i would treat myself to this is because i received enough gift certy's to get it and a couple of goodies for free . getting the truck off of sacred ground is when the beast reared its ugly head ,, man that was a test. that parking lot got nasty . point me in the direction of ice ,, any ice . sat's forecast,,, plus what?? plus 12 degrees. go figure. -
in the days of my youth , liver and heart were fried immediately after the deer was brought to our small community. a choice few brought beers and toasted the savvy hunter as we enjoyed those delicasees cooked on a woodstove . not so common-place these days. we did eat the heart of the doe i harvested this year . great stuff. many livestock spend extended periods in the fields, away from the farm, eating and drinking naturally-occurring sustinance , deer are doing the same. tough call . just like the consumption of fish on some BOW's regulating the eating of your deers organs might be a good idea according to the mnr . i still enjoy it ,, just not as often .

don't have any mounts myself , being mostly a c&r fisherman , but i think seeing a great fish on the wall knowing it 's still alive out there would be a decent feeling . iced a decent pike last sunday 34 in. or so [no tape ,fishin' solo] fought like a freight train, felt just as good releasing that wolf. rep.'s get my vote. visit advanced facilities if you any questions ,they'll walk you thru the whole process ,show you some amazing mounts you'd swear were just pulled live from the lake . lie 'bout the fish you got mounted?? ,, who could look up at that everyday just to remind yourself you're a liar?? that would suck.
