Ah damn, now I feel like a dumbass. Thanks for pointing out the obvious Dan Perhaps these lures will help skyrocket Team 5 to victory?
-
Oh man, I am sure the muskies in GBay would love that
-
Sorry to bump a really old post, but has anyone received their lures? Perhaps Ryan can provide an update!

You can't put the whistle away during regular time, then bring it out in OT... Ref's ruined that one.

To make all the metric people happy 4.28 litres per 100km on the highway. (Average) 4.15 litres per 100km on the highway. (Best tank)

You must be doing all hwy km's. Great numbers!

We pretty much found the same thing, all kinds of fish in the 25-80ft range. We noticed most of the fish were suspended mid way down or hugging tight to the bottom. We marked a lot of fish, no doubt about it... I still think the water was to cold (39-40 degree average). I think when the water gets closed to the magical 50-55 degree mark the Lakers will be doing what they should be doing

My thoughts will definitely be with you and your family. I lost my sister 3 years ago to brain cancer, she was 32 and just had my niece 13 months previous. Unfortunately cancer doesn't pick and choose.

Ahh yes!!! Well damn, I wish I was a bit closer to Lake Erie! 63.5 degree's already? That water must be heating up super fast.

I went in today to pick up the Shimano Citica/XPS rod combo as advertised on the front page of the new flyer. All sold out.. Hopefully they get some more in soon, I'll be bugging them via phone everyday, lol

I rented a Pontiac G6 V6 when I was down in Florida... Horrible gas mileage even with me being very easy on it...

The Weekend Report - only 1/2 of the team made it to the water
BillM replied to Casey123's topic in General Discussion
Nice to see someone caught something out on the Bay this weekend!!! Awesome report! -
Depends if the goods are declared or not :) Should they be? Yes.. Have I had bouts of amnesia when buying things in the US and bringing them back over the border? Many times....

Wayne, mentioned we were both sissies for not picking the muskie up.
-
I had a nice base from being in Florida for 2 weeks, no issues here. Unfortunately Wayne is a little more fair skinned then me

99.5 VW Jetta TDI. I've seen a best of 57MPG US, my average would most likely be around 48-50MPG. Car has 458,000km's on it and there are no signs of it stopping anytime soon. (All engine internals, turbo, etc etc are original)

What an excellent day out on the water. Wayne it was great meeting you and you kept me in stitches the entire day! The fish were definitely not in the mood today, but they were down there. I think once the water warms up a bit, that spot we found at Giants Tomb is going to be deadly.. The next time we vertical jig, I think we should use something other then rigger rods We definitely got a 'A' for effort and a little sunburn to go along with it. This was my first outing with a OFC'r and I couldn't have picked a better person. Wayne showed me the in's and out of the bigger water on Gbay, gave me a few hints as to were to go for some 'skis when the time comes, and also answered the 1000 questions I had for him yesterday. Again, a big thanks to you Wayne, it was very much appreciated. I had a great time and hopefully we can get out on the water together in the near future. (Imagine if we actually caught some fish? )

Anything I can catch casting

I've had mixed experiences at BPS. Looking for a fishfinder for my dad worked out ok, but most of the people behind that counter couldn't answer my questions.. I went back home, did MORE research then came back in and picked one up. On the other hand, I talked to a guy behind the reel counter for atleast an hour before I purchased my Shimano Citica 100DSV. He was extremely helpful and didn't Bull me when he couldn't answer one of my questions. He simply found a person that could... Anytime I go back in there I make a point to see if he is working or not and have a quick chat with him. Didn't try to push the BPS brand on me at all (which I have had some sales people do).. All in all great store, selection is great and the prices aren't to bad (depends on the item, I find they are very overpriced on reels)

If the OP is a little hesitant, then he might want to pick up a Hayes Manual at Crappy Tire that will walk him through the entire process, with pictures

You gotta remember 40lb Power Pro has the diameter of what, 10 or 12lb? It's not to heavy at all... I think I am going to run SpiderWire Ultracast Invisi-Braid on my muskie setup this year(as suggested by a seasoned pro), or 50lb PPro. As for leaders, I think I'll let the guys at JB's set me up with some flouro or titanium single strand leaders.

Doing a brake job isn't rocket science.. I've done a few sets of pads/rotors on the F150's and it has got to be one of the easiest replacements there could be (My gf's 00 Grand Prix has to take the title for easiest brakes, lol)... Like it was mentioned before, 2 bolts hold the caliper to the carrier, take those off, take the caliper off the rotor and remove the rotor. Installation is the opposite.. I really don't know how someone could mess it up.

I find that using a baitcast setup is just a lot more fun for me. I like the fact that I can reel up, pull the trigger and I am into another cast in a split second. With my spinning outfit, I need to open the bail, grab the line with my finger, etc etc. It's not a night and day difference, but I can rip off 5 casts with my baitcaster faster then I can with my spinning setup. I also feel I have more control when I really wanna muscle a cast and get the lure out there with my baitcaster compared to my spinning outfit. I am also deadly accurate with my baitcaster.. It all depends on what I am fishing for though.. Vertical jigging or live bait fishing it's my spinning outfit for sure. Casting cranks and topwaters for bass/pike, it's my baitcast setup.. Hucking huge wood for muskie and big pike, baitcaster hands down... When I first picked up my Shimano Citica 100DSV and spooled it with 8lb Sensation, I literally giggled when I made my first cast. It just went on and on, I couldn't believe the distance I got with this reel. I could easily outcast my oldman and his spinning setup. A little less distance with Spiderwire, but still not to shabby. I tried to get my dad into using the baitcaster with one of my older setups, but he just couldn't get the hang of it. I am going to pick up a one of the new Citica/BPS combo's they have on sale right now. I'll most likely give my dad my 100DSV and take the bigger 200DSV
