  1. If it's not a triploid, then more power to the guy that caught it. Just by looking at it, it screams triploid to me.
  2. Fraying isn't the same as being nick resistant... I think we've all seen braid fray, that's nothing new. As for running over rocks and zebra mussels? I'll take mono/flouro everytime over braid.
  3. I'd take a diesel over a Hemi any day, especially when that's 100% Mercedes diesel under the hood
  4. Lew, that's the thing people rarely think about. Stopping! LOL!
  5. Triploids shouldn't be considered for world records. Look at that nasty mutant.
  6. Who do you know that's been denied warranty work because they bought a part for their car at a place OTHER than the dealer? I've had warranty work completed on cars I've otherwise done all the maintenance myself on (This includes TB jobs, clutches, whatever).... Sounds like you and your best friend is getting the gears from the dealer (I'm not surprised at all by this)
  7. Where do people come up with this? As long as you're using a OE equivalent, your warranty is just fine. You actually think Mercedes makes ALL their own parts? There are all kinds of OE vendors out there that produce 'Mercedes' parts... Mahle, Mann, Bosch, Litens, Hepu... the list keeps going and going. Same thing with VW/Audi and all the imports for that matter. Stop spreading misinformation.
  8. Al, high prices and bad service (I'm making a sweeping generalization here) :)
  9. If you go to the dealer for parts, you deserve to get bent over, lol. Absolutely no need to . So many vendors out there that can get you the parts for a fraction of the cost. Also, the Sprinter vans were always Mercedes, there's no Dodge in them at all (Unless you count the badging)
  10. Engine is sourced from Mercedes (Unlike the VM Motori engine in the Liberty)... It's pretty much bulletproof. Can't go wrong, great choice.
  11. ^---- Rich always has a case of the Mondays :)
  12. I try and go as light as possible, but like it was mentioned above.. If it's windy/wavy you wanna get down quick... Going to try to dropshot for lakers next week as well, should be a fun time if the weather co-operates.
  13. Bell weights work fine for me and are cheaper.
  14. Not really man, but yeah... It's more abrasion resistant that braid is which is a good reason to use that or mono.
  15. 2 more days until paradise!

  16. I'd be scouring the internet for PEI related fishing forums.
  17. I run mono leaders for pretty much everything. It's cheap and does the job. If I'm fishing crappie or similar, I'll run some 3lb Froghair, sometimes those little buggers are finicky +1 on Vanish being garbage.
  18. I'm guessing someone left a stringer in the water and old boy got a hold of those fish. Too bad.
  19. We used to pull some giant crappies from the base of the 3 falls by the fabric plant when I was a kid. I had no idea what they were until I brought a few home to show my dad :)
  20. How does a XXXS barrel swivel attached to a 24in piece of mono or flouro affect lure action? Also, mono and flouro are way more abrasion resistant than braid is... You run braid over a few rocks or zebra mussels and you'll be losing a lot more lures.. As for ruining guides? I've yet to see that.... A little common sense would dictate that you don't reel the swivel into your guides in the first place, lol.
  21. Sure it does... I lived in St.Catharines for 28 years and fished that spot probably a thousand times. It's always been called 'the breakwall'. But apparently that terminology is incorrect, perhaps some people here need to go down there and educate the locals on their choice of words. I hope they bring a camera, because I'm willing to bet they'll be going for a swim The fun times down there was fishing from the center section of the dam, the far left side with all the giant concrete blocks (past the fence) or the 3 falls. I can't count the number of times I got spooled there. Ride down in the morning before it was light on your bike with your fishing rod strapped to the frame, great memories!
  22. Always keep some early season bass for my mom before they get wormy. She loves them! I'm sure those will be great eaters.
  23. You'll never know until you try. I've got a small lake near me, average depth of maybe 4ft, gets super hot in the summer time, loaded with big largemouth, lol.
  24. Let's call it the hangout for the Port D posse!
