  1. I'd be scouring the internet for PEI related fishing forums.
  2. I run mono leaders for pretty much everything. It's cheap and does the job. If I'm fishing crappie or similar, I'll run some 3lb Froghair, sometimes those little buggers are finicky +1 on Vanish being garbage.
  3. I'm guessing someone left a stringer in the water and old boy got a hold of those fish. Too bad.
  4. We used to pull some giant crappies from the base of the 3 falls by the fabric plant when I was a kid. I had no idea what they were until I brought a few home to show my dad :)
  5. How does a XXXS barrel swivel attached to a 24in piece of mono or flouro affect lure action? Also, mono and flouro are way more abrasion resistant than braid is... You run braid over a few rocks or zebra mussels and you'll be losing a lot more lures.. As for ruining guides? I've yet to see that.... A little common sense would dictate that you don't reel the swivel into your guides in the first place, lol.
  6. Sure it does... I lived in St.Catharines for 28 years and fished that spot probably a thousand times. It's always been called 'the breakwall'. But apparently that terminology is incorrect, perhaps some people here need to go down there and educate the locals on their choice of words. I hope they bring a camera, because I'm willing to bet they'll be going for a swim The fun times down there was fishing from the center section of the dam, the far left side with all the giant concrete blocks (past the fence) or the 3 falls. I can't count the number of times I got spooled there. Ride down in the morning before it was light on your bike with your fishing rod strapped to the frame, great memories!
  7. Always keep some early season bass for my mom before they get wormy. She loves them! I'm sure those will be great eaters.
  8. You'll never know until you try. I've got a small lake near me, average depth of maybe 4ft, gets super hot in the summer time, loaded with big largemouth, lol.
  9. Let's call it the hangout for the Port D posse!
  10. What's for dinner? LOL
  11. For a 2 year old? I'd make sure you didn't care if it ended up at the bottom of the lake.
  12. Where are the Swammers? :) Nice job man! Those are some great looking fish!
  13. How is it splitting hairs? The breakwall by the dam and the piers are completely different places. One has lots of current and usually a lot of guys, the other doesn't. If you're going to provide info to the guy, at least make sure it's correct.
  14. Go chase residents.
  15. Yeah no, you really didn't, lol. Perhaps you are confusing break wall with pier?
  16. If Lowrance was that good, people wouldn't be buying HB's Food for thought.
  17. Had those stupid thing hit topwater at night with Cudz a few weeks ago, lol!
  18. You could have had some greasy BBQ as well!
  19. Never an issues with any HB I've had (747C for bowmount/ice duties, 788ci and the new 898c HD SI I've currently got).. I've heard Lowrance customer service leaves A LOT to be desired.
  20. Wasn't he asking about the piers? I wouldn't bottom fish where you attempted either, too much current, too many guys.. Silver bass should be milling around the piers now as well.
  21. Hold the fish on the inside gill plate when taking a pic, it will come out a lot better Nice fish man, giant tail on that thing!
  22. There's no need for a leader to be so long that you can't cast because you're reeling the swivel into your guides... 18-24 inches.. I haven't found a situation yet that I needed something longer, regardless of species.
  23. What else do you want for steelhead though? Hooks, shot, floats, ... It's pretty simple, lol.
  24. Boot foots don't give you much if any ankle support. Great for keeping warm however compared to stocking foots.
  25. Restore defaults and try it again.
