  1. Picked up a Shimano Calais 100a, JDM Shimano Antares AR, Shimano Sustain 3000 FE, custom HMX steelhead hardware rod, and lots and lots of tackle. No big plans for 2015, maybe another glass rod for the Antares.
  2. If I was Ottawa I'd definitely do deal #2, considering that pick will most likely be McDavid with the way Edmonton is rolling this year.
  3. Phones will never replace in field GPS units. First off, the antennas are completely different. Then you've got things like weather proofing/water sealing, the the battery life issues.. Phone are great when you're sitting on Simcoe, not so much when you're humping through a dense cedar swap 20 miles out of Chapleau.
  4. There were so many awesome wrestlers back in the day.
  5. Eakins would go back down to the Marlies before taking a job in Ottawa, lol!
  6. Best thing about the Garmin units is that the maps are easily acquired.
  7. Oh the irony. You're at the bottom of the barrel looking up and still can't get the Leafs out of your head. Perhaps some grief management might help? The one thing the Sens can do is lose, why not go after the 1st pick in the Draft?
  8. ESPN 30 for 30 always has some great stories. One of my fav sports related shows. The Bo Jackson one was probably the best. If you haven't seen it, make a point of it.
  9. The best part about Kijiji is that you can simply ignore those emails. Some people get so bothered by them, I just laugh and click 'delete'..
  10. Yup, great show as was 'Hooked' with Mark Kruppa. I usually only watch WFN on Tuesdays.
  11. Never had an issue selling stuff on Kijiji (Even high ticket items $500+).. Sold a TV which was gone in about 30mins, camera gear doesn't last but a few days. No complaints from me. Same experience as a buyer, most people I've met are everyday people like you and me,.
  12. It would be nice if the white bucket brigade that keeps everything under the sun in and out of season got as much spot light as this guy did.
  13. I'll have to try the free spool trick the next time a chinnie is going for the open water but man, I dunno if I'll actually remember
  14. The high-ish ISO of those Nikons blows me away, it's fantastic.
  15. Is this what you're looking for? Page 70 https://dr6j45jk9xcmk.cloudfront.net/documents/3311/2014-ontario-hunting-regulations.pdf asterisk * indicates you can only shoot antlered deer. They sure don't make this stuff easy to read! Then there's the bow section where I think you can shoot a doe in 76c. *confused*
  16. From what I can gather, you apply and if you get approved, the tag itself will state what you can hunt.
  17. I think I am going to sell all my investments and start slinging crack
  18. That really is a tough one.... What kind of distances are you shooting when you're at the pool? You'll want something with a low aperture (f stop) in order to get as much light as possible into the lens and have the fastest shutter speed (So the pics are nice and crisp).. There are lenses that will do that and double up as great birding/wildlife lenses but there's no point in evening mentioning them as they are over 2k. I'd be looking at a Canon EF 70-200 F/4L. Now, it's a pro grade lens (With the L designation) but for the price it's a bargain. Absolutely fantastic IQ (Image quality), weather sealing, built like a tank.. You can pick these up used for around $500 (New $650). It's not the smallest lens, and it stands out. But at the of the day, who cares, you're worried about the pics, not whether or not people are thinking your wife is now a pro photographer I wish you were closer, I could let you hand hold a bunch of the lenses I've got.. If there's a Henrys near you take your body in and try some lenses out.
  19. Big bright male arctic char from the Tree River. One day.
