I'll have to try the free spool trick the next time a chinnie is going for the open water but man, I dunno if I'll actually remember

The high-ish ISO of those Nikons blows me away, it's fantastic.

December deer hunt question. (controlled hunt)
BillM replied to misfish's topic in General Discussion
Is this what you're looking for? Page 70 https://dr6j45jk9xcmk.cloudfront.net/documents/3311/2014-ontario-hunting-regulations.pdf asterisk * indicates you can only shoot antlered deer. They sure don't make this stuff easy to read! Then there's the bow section where I think you can shoot a doe in 76c. *confused* -

From what I can gather, you apply and if you get approved, the tag itself will state what you can hunt. -

That really is a tough one.... What kind of distances are you shooting when you're at the pool? You'll want something with a low aperture (f stop) in order to get as much light as possible into the lens and have the fastest shutter speed (So the pics are nice and crisp).. There are lenses that will do that and double up as great birding/wildlife lenses but there's no point in evening mentioning them as they are over 2k. I'd be looking at a Canon EF 70-200 F/4L. Now, it's a pro grade lens (With the L designation) but for the price it's a bargain. Absolutely fantastic IQ (Image quality), weather sealing, built like a tank.. You can pick these up used for around $500 (New $650). It's not the smallest lens, and it stands out. But at the of the day, who cares, you're worried about the pics, not whether or not people are thinking your wife is now a pro photographer I wish you were closer, I could let you hand hold a bunch of the lenses I've got.. If there's a Henrys near you take your body in and try some lenses out.

Following Terry sounds like it might be hazardous to your health

Where can I sign up for 'Lews Guiding Service'? :)

Self control is a wonderful thing. That's like blaming the government because someone is an alcoholic. No one makes you put that $0.75 into the slot machine and pull the handle.

Yeah, you gotta watch the MERs, they can really hit you in the wallet, especially when you end up with substantial amounts in your RRSPs. I've got stock options through work, also a RRSP they'll match up to 6% of my annual salary. I also invest outside of work as well (Another RRSP, TFSA and a bunch of ETFs)... We get company stock at a 15% discount right off the bat, and we're allowed to use 10% of our salary towards that as well. It's built up a sweet little nest egg for myself over the past 10 years. I think the most important thing people have on their side is time.. I started investing in my mid 20's, bought a house at 28 (That will be paid off in the next 4 years).. If the market dips, that's the best time to stop worrying about what you've potentially lost and drop more $$$ into it. I did that in 2008 and I'm reaping the benefits of it today... Just gotta be smart, don't panic and things will work out. I think it would be a good idea that our education system spends more time teaching our kids how to save and invest rather then worrying about a war that happened over 200 years ago

It's a nice way for him to retire, no complaints from me... Good on the Sens for doing that.

If it was easy, everyone would be doing it

Canadian Couch Potato is another good site if you want to do some reading.

Guys, if the pop-ups annoy you that much look into an extension called 'Ghostery' I use this along with an ad-aware extension in Chrome and I never, ever get popups. Super simple to install as well, almost zero configuration. AdBlock is also another good extension.

Wowzers.. I was out of the house for college and never returned, not like the offer wasn't open but I was working while in college and had a fulltime gig the day I graduated. Sure I had to slum it a bit, but that's all apart of growing up. Some people still living at home in their late 20's and 30's blow my mind.

Your first problem is Rogers! You actually get signal up at Temagami? That's the one reason I went with Bell, way better coverage in the sticks if I need it.

Dave, the secret is to not to try to keep up with the neighbours. If your current XYZ does the job, then that's all you need.

I wish I had the excuse to buy a new sled, but I really don't use mine all that often.

Get a watercooled engine, the 550 fans (I've got a '02 Indy Trail Touring) are notorious for over heating and blowing top ends (Like mine ).. Now that being said if all you're doing is putting around Simcoe (Which is pretty much all I do) it will be just fine. When I blew my top end I was in probably a foot of slush with 2ft of powder with me and my dad on the sled towing our shelter. And it blew after about 7 miles of WOT in those conditions, lol! (Only the right side cylinder). It's been fine every since I replaced the top end. And if the conditions are that bad, I stay home.
