Lew the next time they're off take a wire wheel + drill to the hub face to get all the rust off. I put a light coating of anti-seize on the hub face anytime I'm swapping from summers > winters. I usually don't have problems getting them off come spring time, but if I do a 2x4 and a sledge (light taps) makes quick work of it.

Someone hurry up and come out with heated guides, or I'll just have to invent that myself!

Wasn't the whole premise of line twist while ice fishing being detrimental to the action of the lure? ie the jig spinning by itself. Steelhead don't care if you have line twist, and no one will ever convince me that the Wallis cast is worth the effort, lol. Now if there's a correlation between casting style and fish on the bank, I'm all ears.

Cabelas (In the US or online) has some great Kalins jig heads that I used for lakers during the open water season. Anywhere from 3/4 up to 1.5oz.

The spin also has to do with the lure itself, not the line. All tube jigs will spiral.. I haven't seen one that drops straight yet (Unless it weighs something silly like 1-2oz)
