A decent amount of 'Ok' pike (say 5-8lbs) but you'd be hard pressed to get anything bigger with consistency.. Some giant muskies, but those are few and far between. I fish it all the time (Probably 2-3 times a week once late May hits).. Fun lake, the boat traffic can be awful however and she whips up quick with the right wind.

If I could find the crappie in HH, I'd be a happy camper.

Eh... I dunno if I'd call Crane a trophy pike fishery by any means. If I were the OP I'd head to Lake Muskoka.

You wanna talk about fog! Ran the electronics all the way out, couldn't see a thing.. Wasn't worried too much about other boat traffic in this place. Was a bit unnerving but the fish co-operated.

Don't try and catch the fish on the beds, they aren't going to bite. If you can see them, they can see you. If you catch a OOS fish, just get it back in the water, no harm no foul. Also, steelhead aren't very smart your leader being mono wasn't the reason you weren't catching fish.

I'd be jigging up early season lakers on Simcoe to start, then break out the trolling gear. 10ft off bottom, zipzag, you'll boat a few before they get sulky in July, lol.

I usually use the same stuff I use steelheading as I do from the boat pretty much everything. Phantom in 5.6, 6.0, 7.1

Sounds like some lakes are in 'HD' and others aren't.
