OI, my volvo suv doors are heavy, and the wind flung it open like it was nothing. I seriously thought I broke something or may have dented the fender. Luckily no damage. A crane went down at a construction site near our home. 3 trees were blown down at my work place

Just a heads up, hold onto your door handles as you get in or out your car today. The crazy winds will swing them open or shut violently. Ask me how I know

baggage fees Interesting article: flying with fishing gear
huzzsaba posted a topic in General Discussion
Hope this helps someone save some money on baggage fees. https://www.hatchmag.com/articles/save-big-baggage-fees-your-next-fishing-trip/7714567 -
supposedly the weather will not feel like spring until mid April

thanks. Didnt have the rod/reel in front of me so could not picture the size of the reel of the top of my head
-
Is 3 inches width enough to fit a 4000 series reel? or would the reels need to come off?

A friend of mine went to one of the smaller lakes up there and caught around a dozen of them on minnow and split shot. Good luck!

Totally agree with you Chris. I don't see a point. Hopefully we can do like some provinces have done and scrap it.

pretty cool!

beautful fish! Hoping to get out soon myself!

Update: walked into sheridan mall Service Ontario with my ugly BMHH plates, and walked out 15 minutes later with a set of brand new plates for a grand total of zero! The teller looked at the plates, made a face, and threw them in a box along with a whole bunch of other junk plates. No questions asked!

thanks for sharing. I'm in the market for a new pair, and these fit the bill and look nice too!

Way to rub it in guys lol! Just kidding, I'm happy you guys caught some of the bigger fish. Was hoping to get out for my second chance at my first laker/whitefish. Will have to wait till next season. On a positive note, I also caught a few new species this winter. Pike, and herring. .

I know what I am doing this Thursday! Going to try my luck at getting some new plates for free! Mine are BM plates.

Looks like the hut operators have moved their huts off the ice on Simcoe, so its time to hit the piers. The only think I have caught from the piers are salmon and a bass, but hoping for some rainbows this winter/spring. I have seen with my own eyes a regular at the pier catch a few rainbows with a spoon in the fall last year, but others on the same pier recommend using roe at this time of the year saying that since the water is cold, they may not want to chase a spoon. So, what do you recommend in the winter/spring? use the spoon or head out and get some stuff to make roe bags? I have tons of roe from a salmon my friend caught in the fall. thanks

Looks like my first laker and whitefish will have to wait till next year. Gotta hit the piers!

Ive been hearing that beaverton is not doing so well for perch this year. On the other hand, i think cooks bay might be doing better. I had the same experience in the early season this year out of Beaverton. Very few fish marked and very few takers. Hope your back will be fine!

congrats on the purchase! Love the recent Kia and Hyundai products. They are pretty peppy if you ask me. I was on a ticketless streak for 10 years until I rented a sonata for a trip last summer. ended up with 2 tickets on that trip to Alberta. One was a traffic camera and one while overtaking someone on the rural roads of Saskatchewan Sorry OI I didn't get to reply to your post about the Agera. Its actually made by Koenigsegg company, but they are swedish like Volvo so pretty close. Volvo has come a long way from their old boxy cars, and the power output is pretty impressive. The new xc90 hybrid puts out 400 hp and can keep up with some pretty fast cars out there. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jOdZXOF7mVU check out this video

Mine are definitely past the 5 year mark. Probably my only option is to use a mint set of plates from my old car and transfer them on to my existing car. Not sure if its cheaper that route or just get new plates.

I'm sure a lot of you are in the same boat as me with peeling license plate. I have used the plastic covers and despite that still have the issue. . I get jealous when I see the older style plates or any plates from outside the province. My only choice now to get new plates or is there a way to get free replacement plates?? Thanks

Great tip. Also 2 pairs of socks and 2 pairs of pants. Top can be dressed in layers since it gets hot in the upper half of the cabins.

Thanks for reading. I will try once more before the 15th of March. Hopefully the snow clears off the ice so the water isn't so dark next time around -
Pretty cool. Never thought of adding an extra hook to the sinker. What size hook l do you recommend for the whities?

Make a few perch rigs like the one in this video. Works great! drop it until the line stops dropping, reel up till you feel tension, which means you weight is on bottom, and you will feel every bite. You can have 1 or 2 rods with that rig on and one with a jig to attract the perch. As far as jigs are concerned, northland buckshot rattle spoon works well, and Canadian tire has a variety of them. Dont need much for perch fishing! 22nd is a weekday. I have done better on weekdays this season, Since its a weekday, they may not be fully booked. If fishing is slow, ask them to move you to another hut. The guides usually know if another hut has been doing better. Wishing you a great day out on the water. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wd2xrgAYJHI
