  3. Squid & Joey said it best congrats Ron - you were due
  4. didnt know they were gonna stop making them. I am the original owner of an '04 30 hp 4 stroke Johnson tiller. Love it, not a single hiccup yet.... I plan on keeping it for a very long time... hopefully aqiring parts for maintenance wont be difficult later on.....
  5. any Q107 Deringer fans? LOL i too enjoy my icefishing, but can wait till it arrives
  6. very nice TJ I am only 26, but a big Classic Rock junkie Lakeport - the highschool Neil went to, same as me - sadly they are probably going to be closing the school in a year or two... Lakeside Park (aka Port dalhousie) is one of my faves
  7. So the wife & I one day would like to travel out that way.... could be two or ten years from now..... nevertheless, just wondering if anyone here had anything to share that could help us out... we would most likley go for 7-10 days (including the travelling) and probably 4 days of strictly fishing... hoping to hook into Inconnu (sheefish) Grayling, Halibut & of course some of them legendary salmon & steelhead we would probably would use a guide/charter for a coupla days for various species, but wuold also like to do some on our own as well... thanks in advance..
  8. dont forget to grab a couple of "Original Jumlas" the hot Quinte bait of 05
  9. thanks TJ 2 weeks ago I called Bell asking if I could drop a theme pack in exchange for the WFF package.. they said i needed it called last night and asked again, they'r response: "sure no problem, anything else?" buncha crooks! hope the wife dosent miss the movie package.....
  10. no comment I have owned & used a variety of different riggers manuals & electrics, both my own & friends when the day comes that I upgrade to electrics, I am pretty certain they will be Big Jon Capatains packs
  11. this is for Bell? I called a coupla weeks ago & was told I needed the upgrade... are they trying to screw us city slickers?
  12. Ive been to both Glen Echo & Lakair depending what end of the Lake you wish to fish, both are fine spots with exceptional hosts
  13. just 'cause they'r not posting, dosent mean they are not catching ya know........
  14. my appologies to you LOLLH - as i was not reffering to you in particular
  15. dont wanna derail this thread but Darryl had done way more for this province's fishery than many seem to realize - upsets me a lot when i see stuff like this..... and I also back on Lew 100% on his reply and yes it is a shame that we have lost the contribution of some fine anglers, i dont fault them at all for their decision......
  16. it was an incidental catch i too had a legal muskie expire on me after it inhaled a small crankbait on me - it never had a chance - i now take a couple of extra measures when I am not targetting muskie too try & prevent it from happening it again
  17. lower Niagara seemed a little low as well today....
  18. thanks for sharing Shelly Pete & Char sure are good people indeed - loving looking homestead they have - I remember a coupla years ago, Pete was telling me about the big dreams he was having - looks like they came true!
  19. one the best shops in the province no doubt
  20. all the best Paul (aka "what's his name")
  21. Paul do yourself a favor - get a fixed mount VHF I have buddies with handhelds, yes they work, but range is limited, batteries wear out (you cant talk while the batt. is charging) Lowrance makes one heckuva VHF & can be had at LB's for $120-30? if the 8' antenna is whats stopping you, then get a 3' sailboat antena - thats what i did for my boat - working like a top http://www.lowrance.com/Products/Marine/LVR-850.asp
  22. i dont think he was specifically targetting muskie - a 1/2 oz spinnerbait is a great multi species bait for the lake & anything will hit it - I dont fault him for being under-equipped, unless muskie was the desired target. The one muskie that expired onme, came while walleye trolling with light gear, nothing i could do to help it - every year up that way i get muskie while walleye fishing, I am now experimenting with stronger floro leaders while eye fishing now, so that accidental 'skies wont wont bite me off with 3 trebles in there yap - working so far....
  23. we had a good night last night on the big lake during that time period as well, took my biggest king of 07 fishing the moons often can tip the odds in your favor
  24. nice going ive only been able to get up that way once so far... dont worry about the Muskie, it happens & you tried - i too had a 38" expire on me up there, they dont taste too bad, but are never a fish fry target of mine
