also..yes OGI did some shady stuff...the market/lawsuits will handle that...have faith in regulation. I personally wouldnt be trading in that company if someone gave me free money to trade with. Thats how the free market economy works. You screw up, you get sued and fined into oblivion...Ask Volkswagen about that. The conspiracy theory is that all of the medical producers are "poisoning us" What a shame...i have no clue what the hell the hells angels have put in my weed the last 20 years either...and no one will ever know because it was being illegally grown. These guys got caught and will now suffer the consequences...thats how the system is supposed to work.

honestly giant when you consider how the alcohol lobby is run in Ontario is it any surprise at all that the big medical producers will be the ones that also run the recreational market? the last thing that the govermnent wants to do is create a free for all where the exact reality becomes the same one that the anti legalization sentiment has been preaching about for years. Aka, kids buying pot from anyone anywhere. The more red tape they put up the safer they are from avoiding the problems they are facing in the states with no oversight of the suppliers. Yes, we there is a major issue when companies like OGI are using banned pesticides on their products...but at least we are aware that this has happened, and they are going to be held accountable for it. I would prefere this scenario over one where we end up with the exact same problems that we have with criminalized pot...aka Organized Crime being the supplier and putting god knows what in your product. Accountability is a good thing, especially with these companies being traded in the public market...its great to be a conspiracy theorist and talk about how these publicly traded companies are poisoning us etc etc...but real regulations exist to make sure that both customers and shareholders in these companies are obtaining all of the information that they require. When a CEO starts hiding information from his shareholders and gets caught...he goes to jail. Its hard to convey my thoughts clearly by writing on here...but lets not start bringing conspiracy theories into the discussion surrounding legalization...that sounds exactly like something a bunch of stoners would say...surprise surprise. The whole purpose of legalization is not to allow a bunch of pot heads buy weed everywhere. The purpose is to regulate a gigantic industry that is currently operating illegally while effectively cutting the financial burden of the massive amounts on enforcement required to regulate it, while also taking money out of organized crime's hands. At the same time still providing those that need it for medicinal purposes with consistent effective medicine. I get it GBAY you wanna use weed every day and have it free to you all the time...dont get me wrong...i love weed too...but you arent convincing anyone that its a good idea for absolutely everyone to be using the stuff every day...its not...i wouldnt tell you to take a tylenol, or aspirin, or have a coffee every day either. Lobbys are lobbys, if you want this industry to go legit...then its going to be subject to the same rules that every other industry in canada has, and be part of the capitalist system that Canada has. To me I would prefer it that way. Im excited to see some legitimate business men involved with the industry. They have turned Canada into a world economic power, hopefully this fledgling industry can become a massive exporter of Canadian products world wide in the near future. providing jobs, and massive economic benefits to everyone here at home. The right people to get it there are the exact people that you are somewhat demonizing for being venture capitalists...good for them hopefully they make their weed businesses the biggest best companies in this sector in the entire world. TLDR...Keep weed companies publicly traded, regular regulation will keep everyone honest. If you dont believe capitalism is a good system, move to cuba.

Dont be scared to ask honestly for help. no question is too dumb and if you make a thread asking an honest question, you will probably get 10000x more replies than you could even care to have. I went from knowing absolutely nothing to owning 20+ rods, ice fishing, fly fishing, trolling, casting, and throwing big baits for muskys, and it was pretty much all thanks to the stuff ive read around here. Fishing is all in the details my friend...anyone can cast a lure...but learning a few knots, learning about leaders and what line to use when their application, learning about different presentations, texas rigging, drop shotting, walking the dog, carolina rigging, bottom bouncing using a slip float, a tip up etc etc etc...it all takes time...but once you figure it out you will be surprised at how many more fish you start catching. tight lines!

my last trip...possibly of the year was this weekend as well...i dont know about you, but im ready to throw a cast softwater time cant come soon enough. Thanks for the report.

you aint ice fishing unless youve got electronics...Flasher is literally everything out there. one of my favourite things in all of fishing..maybe behind watching something smash a top water is watching a flash appear on bottom, swim up to your bait slowly...and then triggering it to strike. You can literally see it bite your lure on the flasher. My eyes dart from the screen to the tip of the rod just in time to see the bite. Crappies are the best for this cause of their tendency to vertically bite. Watch that rod go straight.

from wake up to fish report that is a close to record turn around time lol Frig I am, and am not looking forward to tomorrow morning in PAB...40 knot winds and a low of -24...the buddy will be blasting for sure.

a word to the wise...dont ever tell someone who fishes ocean tributaries or the ocean itself that you are catching steelhead in Ontario...they might knock you out to try straighten your brain out.

not sure when the opener is...last year on May 1st swimbaits on a jig head were dynamite...found those big shallow bays and threw them out towards the drop off...non stop action almost every cast in the right spots.

you guys are wayyyyy too americanized dont even get me going...i was raised calling pike Jack fish as well.

still contemplating whether gobies are the worst or best thing to happen to our fisheries. Ive definitely caught a number of bass that were just puking them up.

after watching Aaron wiebe on Uncut Angling, I would argue that there are few people who can work a sonar like he does. Well aside from pros that is. I wish i could read side imaging as well as he does. For the most part the tech in my boat is primitive, so the sonar is used to find structure, depths and temperatures. For the most part the spots we fish we are watching the depth and contours to see what the structure looks like. Basically any time we fish, we first check the charts for variation, im a very very firm believer that fish hold to structure with options. I.e. Shallow with deep water near by and places to hide with something to eat close by. I will say that it is rare for us to mark bass on the unit...however when i really think about it 2 of my most impressive moments fishing were literally both due to my ability to notice something on the graph. The first one was fishing in november for smallies. We came across a spot that had produced before but I think for whatever reason we never took note of the structure there...sure enough on the edge of a deeper basin we saw a distinctive hump that came up sharply from 30 feet to 20 and had one of the biggest bait clouds I had ever seen fishing shallowish structure. We tossed swimbaits out over the hump, let them sink down to bottom and then proceeded to swim our swimbaits up over the hump...what happened was a 20lb bag in my next 5 casts. Second time was this fall we drove towards a reef with 30FOW of water around it and sure enough 10 seconds into our troll around the reef to look at the structure we marked an arch so big that it had two fish icons on it. Stalled the boat and dropped the drop shot right down to bottom...within seconds tap...tension...hook set and i caught my PB pickerel coming in at 9lbs. I can honestly say that without the graph on both of those occasions we may have not caught the fish at all without electronics. All said fishies got lip piercings and went back to get even bigger. When fishing open water trolling with downriggers...if you dont have your graph you are basically aiming blind and praying...we find the thermocline and put the balls to it. checking the depth of the balls using the sonar to ensure that we have the thermocline encased both up and down with lures. If you start marking fish, we are trying to hit them with the ball.

we will be towing a tinner upside down in a box trailer, so no worries there!

It actually is effectively doing its job rick. youve got 12 teams in the east right now that are within striking distance of a playoff spot and youve got 11 in the west...what that means is that youve got an extra 7 teams right now that are still generating good revenue because the games still matter.

you know me and the boys bill...we caught over 20 crappies and kept two medium sized ones cause they were hooked deep and bleeding. Those were the first two fish we kept out of the 40+ weve caught over the past few weeks.

The PA is the one thats not allowing this. It has nothing to do with the NHL not wanting it. They tried and the PA shot it down.

not just a leaf fan saying this...but the shootout has had its time, it feels like a friggin coin toss to decide games. Its especially anti climatic now after the 3 on 3...you play an absolutely epic game of tight hockey, then you go to 3-3 and its absolutely wild, but then you just do a shootout and it seems like such a cheap way to end it. Consider this...if the leafs literally were .500 in the shootout they would be 3rd in the division...instead they are out of the playoffs. Calgary did the leafs a big favour yesterday.

thanks for the info muddler...after this past weekend its just going to be a matter of following them...we hammered 10" + slabs all day on saturday, finally made up for the bogus ice season that we had this year. Hit a PB as well, its promising to see the average size is good, cause we know that theres gonna be a monster in the group, its only a matter of time before we find her.

does ice season ever truly end for you guys? the good old days in manitoba when we drove the van out on the ice on my birthday mid april. We actually are now running the best ice we have had all year in PAB. The snow melted and the white ice got soft and saturated, then the cold snap froze it all way harder than it ever was, and then subsequently over the past 4 days of really good cold (we got to minus -25 3 consecutive nights) we now have an additional 6 inches of black ice under the original ice layer. You could drive a truck on the ice in PAB.

ughhh sounds like the fish finally turned on...weve been hammering away for weeks straight on Georgian Bay right up till last saturday and things were sorta firing but nowhere near what you are describing...sure enough our season closes March 1st, and sure as poop, our ice just literally got the best it has been all season due to the lack of insulation. This weekend would have cracked up to be the perfect weekend to finally get on the eyes like last year where we pulled 8 25 inch fish from the depths in a quick afternoon. I guess our only hope now is that the crappies feel the same way that the eyes do and hit us hard, gotta make due with what the regs allow. I cant believe that there is a 3 week difference between PAB and nippising but it is what it is. tight lines out there,
