  1. I dont know about you, but 5 hours of hard labour for 10 bucks worth of pizza and beer is a craptacular wage lol
  2. haha what a great thread I spent many a winter days shovelling my widow neighbors driveway. My dad still snowblows out her place to this day. She has always been more than thankful though, thats all you can ask for. my buddy was driving home one day and saw an elderly man struggling to dig out of a big snow dump. he drove to his house grabbed a shovel and headed back...sure enough the next week in the paper there was an article because this man had reached out to the local paper to tell the story of a kind "unknown friend" that came to help him. I honestly truly believe this...if you want a good gauge on what kind of person you are...put a general call for "help" out to do something...the number of people that show up will tell you just what kind of person you are.
  3. dang, perhaps the coolest looking fish around. Perfect regs, no kill, no live bait will ensure that this fishery will sustain itself. Amazing.
  4. just a lil nippy out there... was -18 when we launched
  5. honestly chris the atmosphere has improved immensely since Matthews arrived. I took in the leafs blackhawks game earlier this season and I dont remember the ACC ever being that loud. I will let you know what happens thursday at the devils game. I will admit though the suits take away from it all...but what can you do when corporations are the only ones that can afford the $380 per seat price for lower bowls.
  6. another weekend slaying eyes capped by a 20 - 17 incher double header

  7. glad to see marner snapping outta it. He looks dominant again, got his confidence back. Who would have thunk, Babcock sorted him out and now look hes scoring 2+ points per game. Boy does Nylander need Matthews eh? Going to the devils game Thursday, they are hot as hell, slightly worried but the leafs are rolling too.
  8. when the walleye fishing is this hot, it warms you up on those -16 mornings ...she was chilly, but the worst part was that i kept having to re-bait my hook cause it was pick after pick.
  9. You guys nailed it...his wrestling perhaps is unparalleled, and then he boxes with pacquio's coach...so how do you beat him?
  10. glad some of you folks appreciate it.
  11. we already have that, trucks are not allowed in the left lane...i would argue it should be pushed further to only allow them in the right lane. The best thing that could happen is just full automation of that industry. Give it a few years and there wont be such thing as a truck driver and that will end the debate. Times are changing, my bold prediction for 20 years from now? You wont be able to drive cars for pleasure unless its on the weekend on a certain roads aka not 400 series highways and the like. The idea of "commuting" to work an office job aside from important meetings will be non existent. We already have the technology and its not even expensive, in fact its free at this point to work from your home. The internet has only really been fully effective for 30 years, the pardigm shift will happen where people realize that using energy to drive a disposable car to a place far away to sit on a computer all day and then sit in traffic on the way home will be completely gone. All you need to do is look at some of the top companies in the world and see how their office environment is changing. Deloitte in Toronto no longer has assigned seating, the entire main office is now "booked" on a day to day basis. Great West life now has a work from home 2 days a week policy...i wouldn't be surprised to see that increase as well. My company needed more space for "additional employees" the board said hell no, make people work from their homes. Transporting goods from point A to point B does not need human intervention what so ever except maybe at the location of departure and delivery. The future of "truck drivers" will be to simply park the things once they arrive at their destination. The world runs on efficiency...if cost and resource savings can be found while also making something safer, there is absolutely 0 chance that it doesn't come into effect. I believe that like anything there are good and bad truck operators. The biggest challenge is keeping the guys awake for the extended periods of driving that they are required to do. No one is immune to that. They already know that this guy was working 3 jobs to support 9 kids...no one is immune to becoming tired, subsequently accidents happen. I got side swiped by a transport truck on the 400 during a snow squall near mount st louis, the truck driver hit and ran me...I honestly dont feel a lot of sympathy for the guys, he had his own personal reasons for doing what he did. I am sure his very livelihood was on the line. He was in a hurry to meet a deadline imposed on him by his company, so he and two other truck drivers im sure communicated with one another to pass the conga line of cars slowly working their way through a complete night time white out....that decision caused the one truck driver to lose control of his truck and nearly kill me and 3 other occupants of my car, he then subsequently didnt stop because he knew that he would lose his job if he did. Automation is the only answer.
  12. the guy that wrote this into the script, definitely fishes lol
  13. water was only 46 on saturday...i was in shock with how warm the fall was, she cooled off fast!
  14. had snow stay on the ground in PAB this weekend. Calling for a low of -13 on friday night...soon boys, soon! Ive got one more weekend of hardcore softwater fishing and then ill be ready for ice.
  15. Lmao love watching ottawa make more terrible moves. hahaha Give up a first a third and turris for a guy that doesnt like playing and puts up less points? ahhaha amazing. Well done to Joe Sakic you found a GM and owner stupid enough to take your garbage and give you a pile of gold in return. two words, wade redden LMAO
  16. man did he add that weight in muscle or what holy cow...his boxing looked crisp too thats what you get when you learn from the guy that taught the pac man. Dominant wrestling as always. Hate on bisping all you want, the guy is trying to make a character so that he can make a living. if you remember him on the ultimate fighter hes actually a pretty funny down to earth guy. He just has to play the villian to get the ratings up. You cant expect GSP to come out and act mean etc, so bisping has to play the role of villian. Classic heel vs face match. BIsping is a tough dude to have withstood that knock down and barrage of elbows, holy crap. No tap either on the choke, gotta love it. Classic jui jitsui.
  17. great lil vid from my home town about Mr Bomber http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/video/community-of-flin-flon-shaped-bobby-clarke-s-life-and-career~1248988 I used to play road hockey with his grandkids
  18. sounds like those walleye are getting fat on rud, goldfish and gobies ahaha 8lb smallies coming to a harbour near you!
  19. Nick lidstrom did it without being physical...his stick work might be the greatest of all time. I remember watching a show about him and guys basically said lidstrom would look like he was still 20 feet away from you while you were carrying the puck, but then hed have the puck.
  20. the only two things that matter on any vehicle the tires and the brakes...the rest is for your pleasure.
  21. you know what they say chris, if you like jeeps, you must like working on cars lol
  22. Matt, all joking aside...sometimes its fun to actually talk hockey and not just poke fun lol you are 100% correct, Karlsonn is an outstanding offensive defenceman. He is IMO by far and away the best one in the entire league. Moreso, he absolutely is way better than any D men on the leafs... but much like the D men on the leafs, his defensive play leaves a lot to be desired. Dont get me wrong hes still better than anyone on the leafs but his +/- tells the entire story. The good news is that he is just entering his prime as a D man (most guys dont truly figure out that side of the game until their late 20's) He has the skill set to be very good, but IMO he lacks the frame to be a physically dominant shut down type of guy that can also score...they are perhaps one of the rarest breeds...Lidstrom might actually be the last one to exist!
