If you know the carp are in the area, I only chum a hand full of corn in one spot. I like using about 5 kernels on a hair rig and just wait. I only chum a lot when I need to bring the carp in. He ate about 6lbs worth of fish... 30mins later.. he puked it out. Lucky it wasn't in the car

This is why I don't bring my doberman to the river... he would go nuts if he saw spawning salmon. The last time I took him fishing for steelhead, he ate someones fish on the bank.
