  1. Been there done that... had to pay on myself. Even though I could never collect if something happened. Talk about Bull. There is a form that can exempt you, but good luck getting it approved. They whine about the underground economy... They are the ones creating it! More and more cash jobs will happen avoiding the governments tax scheme..As people are sick of it. If anything they should be lowering taxes promoting small businesses to follow their taxation program increasing taxes does the opposite, as more and more people look to save a buck Just as taxes on smokes promote the sale of them on the reserve, bypassing government taxes all together. But as sheep we will gladly eat whatever the government shoves down our throats and beg for more. sickens me. G

  5. I have been too busy with renovating the new house! When I took possession of this house there were some hidden items that needed attention... the largest one being that the walls were painted with oil based paint, however they did not prime the walls before hand so needless to say I had to scrape paint off every wall in the house! It came off in sheets.... UGH! Next came skim coating the entire house and filling the 10000000 nail and screw holes throughout. Old popcorn ceiling was scraped off and a new textured ceiling installed (knockdown) All the walls were primed and have their first coat of paint. Removed all the old (poorly painted) mahogany doors and trim... These are the new 6 panels installed. Why stop there? Ripped up the wall to wall shag carpet and installed a pet friendly hardwood (low sheen, hard finish) 3/4" white oak, Light for the main house (open concept) to hide some of the dog hair.... and dark in the bedrooms I think this is a nice detail at the front entrance tying everything together Installed tile at the rear patio door.. Here is where I am to date... Waiting on 3 custom sized doors, and then installation of baseboard... Its been a trying couple of months in my household... doing this on days off etc.. My basement is filled with all our belongings that would otherwise have been in the way.. one coat of paint to go! I am pleased with the results. The view from here... Sorry for the crappy pics... they were taken with my cell phone. G

  20. Very nice Lew, I really like the Ledge Rock (Owen Sound?) It really makes it a nice focal point, I too am undergoing renovations, the GF is not too happy about the house being upside down though... but when they are complete it will be a new house. What I am doing... scraping paint off every room in the house as the builder did not use primer on the walls, before painting them in OIL based paint... the paint is coming off in strips... ugh what a mess... Re-taping every joint and skim coating all surfaces Stucco scraped from ceiling New textured ceiling is in place (Knockdown) New paint through out <--- this is where I am at now.... The whole house is carpet... all being ripped up New 3/4" White oak being installed Honey colour in all the main areas, darker colour in the bedrooms... In a pet safe finish (Matte) New Doors and frames through out w/ casing Removal of old carpet baseboard and new installed through out.. its a ton of work and some serious $$ but in the end worth it Next is the bathrooms and kitchen.... UGH.. Nice to see your finished product while I am living in a mess! G
  21. first take Alberts advice and check the chain tension... Then grab a ladder and climb up to the motor, there you should see some adjustment screws. One set for up/down travel and One set for up/down force. Leave the travel ones alone. make small adjustments to the down force and test the door each time. Also make sure all the rollers actually turn and none are seized. Hope you get it sorted G
