  7. So...that's what were gonna talk about when we get out, granddaughters. Mine is 2 1/2
  8. It's NBD, just friends helping one another out.
  9. Simon, I can GIVE you my old one if you want. And deliver it as well. Is Friday night good? Unless you want the one from Wayne.
  10. That is one nice looking rig! Enjoy it!
  11. Now THAT'S funny!
  12. Try Costco for battery prices as well.
  13. My Ranger, 1985 370V, with all gear and full tanks weighed 3200 pounds even. That is an 17'9"fiberglass boat with a 150 V6 Mercury on it and trailer. I got that figure from parking it on a scale and disconnecting the trailer, so it was only the boat, motor and trailer on the scale. Hope that info helps.
  14. What about the effect that water will have on the other components of the engine, head, valves, INJECTORS (if you have them), cylinder sleeves, just drain it and cut your losses. Sure it is a pain now, but will be an even bigger pain if you conk out in the middle of the lake. In a storm, with water on board, and your grandkids, kids and mother in law (well that's a bad example) or wife, or or or ME! Also alcohol will not mix with oil as well as gas. Gas is a hydrocarbon, as is oil, alcohol is not.
  15. Safe trip, and make sure the dogs are hydrated. See you soon.
  16. I thought they shut Stelco down???? Hahahahahahahahahaha (I kill me) I have no idea, but should give it a try.
  17. Your best option is to pump it out and put fresh gas in.
  18. I was wondering if pickled herring would work as a substitute for cut shad as a catfish bait? I won't be able to try it until next week at the earliest, but I thought it would be an interesting alternative. Heck you've got a built in snack on board while fishing too.
  19. That is one of the good things of being older, all of our stupid stuff we did was before the internet.
  20. The company that Old Ironmaker was referring to is Johnson Controls I believe. Costco, or Wallymart.
  21. Story is 19 days too late.
  22. I went through that very large job on my last Ranger and have NO desire to do it again. Thanks Hirk, I'll pm you a link to what I am looking at for an opinion if you don't mind.
  23. I was looking at a boat, a Ranger, and I noticed that it had a lot of accoutrements fastened into the transom. Two transducers, speed wheel, etc. My question is, The transom is pultruded fiberglass, and if these fasteners were not sealed properly when installed, can water penetrating these holes cause troubles with the soundness of the transom?
