  1. I ended up going with a seat base, cutting a hole in the seat, and attaching a presure treated peice of wood under to distribute the load. I will stick with the van seat for now. Three reasons: 1) $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ it was free and I am frugal 2) It is comfortable! 3) I store my boat indoors, so the moisture that will get into the seat beyond the silicone sealer should evaporate in time.
  2. My boat is fiberglass construction, false floor, completely encapsulated seats. What I am trying to do is fasten a seat base to the first bench seat that is strong enough to carry a automotive seat, (van Captains chair with base removed), and me. I'm a large guy, so there is a lot of stress on the base. I was thinking of using toggel bolts and *PL premium* to fasten plywood to the top of the boat's seat and building from there. My concern with that is the load will be distributed over the small surface area of the toggels. Aproximatley 4 square inches. Once I have wood, I can do anything I need to. (Not meant as a brag, just my material of choice) There is no way of getting to the interior of the seat to put plywood underneath. I thank you in advance for your advice.
  3. I love the names that I have seen, they all have a personal meaning attached to them. Thanks for the responses
  4. Let's see, you're going to LOVESICK lake with your GIRLFREIND, hmmmmm, imagine the possibilities for punny jokes...... Sorry, I know nothing about this lake, now regarding being lovesick......
  5. Go to a rental store and rent a carpet cleaner, you will be able to do it yourself.
  6. Red devils, the real ones .
  7. I am considering a name for my boat right now, however I do not want to copy someone else's if possible. The name that I am thinking of is "Lure Laundry" . The reasoning is; I will be washing a lot of lures with this boat, and it is a, IMO, a humorous way of proclaiming that I am not the worlds' greatest fisherman. So..., I am wondering what did you name your boat and why.
  8. And that is a bad thing, why? I think we all have that to some degree.
  9. Check out the dealer in Cayuga, good people to deal with and their pricing is fair. Haldiman Motors. http://www.haldimandmotors.com/

  16. You sir, are a true outdoorsman.
  17. Yep, there is a section in the classifieds devoted to just that.
  18. I was talking to fellow who was using one in the water at a beach. He said that if you work the bottom where the water is waist height that is where the most rings are lost due to the water lubricating the rings and allowing them to fall off peoples fingers. Just a thought
  19. GCD (or my favorite Redneck), I have to apologize for my fellow Canadians mis-spelling the May 24 weekend. It is actually spelled the May two-four and falls on the weekend that we celebrate our queen's birthday. It was actually started as a celebration of Queen Victoria's birthday. Your history lesson for the day. Your second is .....The only time the US and Canada were at war, 1812, .....we kicked ur butts.
  20. I lost a nephew 3 years ago in a car accident. You have a difficult time ahead of you, do not look to drugs or alcohol for comfort. They both compound the grief. My condolences on your loss
  21. They said that on camera during the CHCH interview
  22. It was the lead story on CHCH news last night, apparently their waders saved them from any serious injury. As well, they had fished there 20 times before according to the victims. http://www.thespec.com/News/Local/article/370805 link to the story
  23. I envy you, I was in Tofino 5 weeks ago and the drive there from the mainland is INCREDIBLE!!! Leave in the morning if you can, and plan on the whole day to get there. Make sure that you stop in the Macmillan Blodel forest to be BLOWN AWAY by the trees. For fishing, there are charters out of the main harbour, however you may want to go to the hotsprings as well. The one thing to remember is BC does not stand for British Columbia, but rather Bring Cash!
  24. talk to your wife!
