  3. Try pushing the shutter button more often......... Ya I know I'm an All I can advise is search for drop-offs and other likely structure. Have fun and enjoy the time on the water.
  4. I just bought a 24 v trolling motor and was surprised at the price of the batteries to run it......(Break Out Another Thousand). Now the thought that I had was to get three bus bars and have two power leads going out from the positive terminal to two seperate bus bars and have one common bus bar going back to the negative terminal on the battery. (Much the same as a house panel setup). By doing this I hope to generate 24 volts going to the trolling motor and have double the amount of 12 v connections avalible for fish-finder, lights etc. Apart from the fact that I will have half the battery reserve capacity are there any issues that I have not thought of. I do understand that this is NOT the best solution, however it is a temporary fix until I can afford the correct amount of batteries. Thanks for your help in advance.
  5. Put it on KIJIJI as a project boat. There is one born every minute........
  6. dynamite!
  7. Perhaps we could have a fund raising tourney with half the proceeds going to a worthwhile charity (my boat upgrade fund??????? ) or even charge an entrance fee for the on-line tourney. Rick I appreciate the work that you do, i have no idea what it all entails, however this board has become an important resource for me in more way than can be spelled out! Thanks again!
  8. ROFLMAO!
  9. Had I know you were going I would have asked you to bring back Jonge Jenever, and Borrel Nottes, verdorie!
  10. Is it just me or has the medium size coffee gotten smaller when the prices rose?
  11. This afternoon I was able to close a deal on a boat. I was able to get a 14' Mattuea fibreglass fishing boat with a whopping 7.5 hp motor. The make i won't say because some "dudes" on the board are a little TOO passionate about the brand of motor they are running....... Had my maiden voyage today with my wife and youngest daughter and of course our Lab. I have a bunk?? trailer that I think will tip up. Well the fun started when I launched, It took me countless pulls to get the motor going. and then I discovered the arrow on the priming bulb Two pulls later we were off. As we went down the grand at the breakneck speed of walking pace, I looked at my wife and smiled the biggest smile I have had since the birth of our first child. Then she took over the tiller for a time and then our youngest took the controls. She enjoyed the sensation of putting the boat into a circle turn at full speed. We on the other hand.....did not. Then it was back to shore, dropped off my wife and daughter and dog and that I was off to crush some gobies! The interesting part was when I had to bring it up on the trailer after the shakedown cruise. Man did I get WET! I have found that in a current it is very difficult to line a boat up over a submerged trailer and KEEP it there while one goes back to the van in order to pull it out of the water. The solution was to bring the boat up to height, winch it to the nose of the trailer, pull ahead so the boat is JUST resting on the bunks, wade out and manhandle the durn thing over the center of the trailer. I am bringing my wellies next time! All in all the best time I have had in a long time!
  12. http://hamilton.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-...QQAdIdZ48379928 I have seen this boat and I think it is very nice.
  13. Sure just use the motor and prop to make an airboat

  17. I am in the market for a new tackle box and would like to benefit from some of the more experienced people on this board. I fish from a squareback canoe (hope to get a boat..........) and from the shore, what would suit me best. I do not have a lot of lures, however I do want to be able to store them properly, and as well snelled hooks are a PITA when they get tangled up. Thanks in advance.
  18. I am gonna put up a shad rap to the winner.
  19. I did the same thing this past week and found that I was able to catch cats on Fishmasters cut bait and not on the liver. I was fishing right of the point by his place, and had to cast out a very long ways to get to the fish. If your floatin' you may have better luck than I did I only caught 30lbs worth of cats, kept one for Sunday lunch, and enjoyed it immensley.
  20. Learn to cast with the mono, but change over to braid when you have that mastered.....
  21. Would you have an electrician rough in a bathroom drain system? I would suggest let those who know what they are doing do the job and stick to what you do best. How important is $ when you brakes fail with your family in the truck???
  22. After getting a lot of the to-do list taken care of today, I was able to head out to Fishmasters place to try for some cats. At dusk I finally had something on my rod..................... Then came the first fish! 5lbs 4 oz. After that the bite was on, the group I was near landed close to 10 fish all around 6 - 9 lbs
  23. I'm older than dirt, and the one lesson I have learned is to talk to people older than you because they tend to know more and do not mind sharing the knowledge.
  24. Whatever I am told to do during the day on Sat, evening I hope to go to the grand and put my rotted liver to use. Doh, it is my birthday party, that night............drat!
