  1. on my 18 ft ranger I installed the rod buckle system, the rods sit on the deck and there really stable in motion no issues really 7ft2" drop shot rod fits good and i can still manouver around the deck no problems, but i don't normally bring more than 8 rods with me
  2. I was out Sunday and as stated it was brutal winds, managed around 50 fish with 10 keepers all caught in sheltered area's and canals, water temps were 55-60 in the canals and 49-52 in the main lake
  3. in all fairness I think the new law may be a little extreme for being "legal" but if we all conducted ourselves accordingly we wouldn't need laws such as this. Also I only have more than 1 beer at home no need to travel to find a bar (ok sometimes i venture over to big cliff's for a beer), i would think that the person that gets caught three times may need more help than a couple suspensions and a interlock will solve
  4. you won't get a better cover for the price if your just using it for storing in the driveway
  5. I use reel magic on my lines reels ,guides works grest. Never tried the KVD condtioner but heard it works great as well, i believe I seen it on the shelf at gagnons
  6. i'll check my trailers and truck again, even if it requires the yellow inspection I'll just pull them out of my desk fill them out and done
  7. under the cowling toward the rear of the engine and it's a regular spin on oil filter, pretty sure this is a yamaha power head, it doesn't have a screen anywhere that i seen
  8. weird wonder why they would have a filter on the 2003 and not the 2007
  9. my 9.9hp merc 4-stroke has an oil filter on the port side of the engine, it's a 2003 model year, it's also the same filter on yamaha snowmobiles and motorcycles the wix or fram number i just can't remember right now
  10. out in the ranger hunting slabs, now just have to decide if were going pigeon or sturgeon
  11. smokercraft and sylvan quality is right there with lund or princecraft, legend buy there hulls by the lowest bidder system doesn't much matter who makes em there not that great of a boat
  12. lots of perch in all the lakes as for size think there all pretty similar, now if going for crappies, rice pigeon and scugog have lots a slabs swimmin around
  13. yup cliff got all 3 boats ready to go my 12fter with a 9.9 4 stroke took about 10 minutes to get ready, spent 3 weekends on the ranger doing pumps and couple minor repairs and wirinf, can't say the neigbours were impressed with the entire can of fogging oil i used in the evinrude v6 150, and shawns lund is pretty much ready just have to finish wiring his new terrova trolling motor
  14. both are excellent boats and either engine choice is a good one sylvan is part of smokercraft so pick the boat you want they will both give you years of great service
  15. wish me luck after checking tomorrows weather and seeing there will be a ne to east wind Myself and fishindevil will be towing my boat over to pefferlaw or area and see if we can get into some perch or crappies, gonna feel good being in the boat again
  16. no wonder there such a ----------- to start
  17. nice haul, thinking i may dump the ranger in either keswick or beaverton on sunday morning try to catch brekky
  18. parents have a pup that looks just like that, last time I was there he spotted my brand new doc martens they lasted bout 15minutes of puppy whirlwind
  19. I have been using the offshore boards for years now and i like them just fine, one trick that i have been using is removing the rear clip and installing a big cross-lock snap swivel i then run a bead 4-5 ft from my crankbait, this way i can pop the board off the line and just fight the fish, the board slides down to the bead as i reel it in and net the fish no chasing of the board required. don't worry you'll get to know when you have a fish on, remember one of the first times me and fishindevil used planers in quinte i was watching the boards shawn was driving and my board kept diving to the middle of the boat, after scatching our heads for a couple minutes thought must of caught some weeds or debris it turns out the debris was a 5lb 11oz walleye
  20. generally the lowrance is made with highr quality internals, i would pick the lowrance over the eagle hands down
  21. thanks for sharing those are some nice shots, I was out sunday as well scouting out some laker lakes to hit in div 15 everything was still ice covered
  22. looks much the same at my house this morning, should have kept the tarp on the boat
  23. yup rebuilt the livewell flappers, replaced the bilge and two livewell pumps, installed new colour bird on the front deck, replaced waterpump impeller, greased motor pivot shaft, just need to vacuum carpet and service trailer and all ready to go
  24. stoty you have a lowrance issue nothing wrong with the ranger wiring from the sounds of it, when you get moisture isues in the graph's it plays hell with the internal power supply and the graph will turn itself on and off and do all kinds of strange things, i went through this with some eagles already
