  1. Paul at KLO is a great guy and the store is coming along, it's getting better all the time, saying that I will also frequent hirk's in courtice for good conversation and good advice and i have been using gagnon's for uncountable years and can't say i have ever had a problem with them. Is there really any bad tackle shops?
  2. i have a old bottomline that has this side finding tecnology i believe it's a 1993
  3. thanks position is filled
  4. http://www.howstuffworks.com/question219.htm here read this it's much easier than me typing the explanation
  5. mike nautilas batterys are ok there kind of like a crap shoot, sometimes you get a great battery and other times there junk. warrantys are great but don't do you any good when your at the lake and jones to fish. My best luck has been with interstate batterys, but right now i have 5 die hards that are working perfect to date What is the current size of your marine battery ?is it a cranking or deep cycle? My reccomandations are a 27 series dc for overall performance in a small boat, using a 27series battery in a 12 ft,er i have a a 36 lb minn kota i could get 2 days of fishing no problem. also i would reccomend charging after every use, and checking water levels will ensure you get years of service from your battery
  6. you have a charging problem, take it in unless your comfortable changing it yourself a fully charged battery has 12.6-12.8 volts (around 2.1volts per cell) you require 2.2-2.4 volts per cell to charge that gives you a charge rate of 13.2-14.2 volts. on my 150hp idling everything on 2 fish finders a flasher gps charge rate is 13.1-13.2 off idle 1500 rpm and up 14.1vt
  7. As many of you know I am a service manager and a tech at a Active Green and Ross in Scarborough and am currently looking for a tire installer or apprentice preferably with experiance but I am willing to train the right individual. Thought I would give some OFC'rs first crack at this. if intrested send me a pm or call or drop by the shop I am located a 1530 midland ave 1 block north of lawrence and can be reached at 416-755-2248
  8. yup clean them up and wax it won't happen anymore
  9. All kinds of bass and pike swimming around the rivermouths and close to shore, as for salmonoids this warm sunny weather will drive them deep again, but you may get rewarded with a decent brown or two or as mentioned dipsys and torpedos will get you down to depth
  10. i wear them when water temps are cold or it's very rough other than that nope,
  11. sounds like a small crack in the pick up tube, i would be trying a different fuel tank and hose, could be a venting problem, but if it's under warranty why waste your money, i am sure there is a merc dealer that will help you out
  12. thanks guys, and pete I'll see ya monday!
  13. Trying to locate a inch thick piece of nylon to mount on my transom for transducers. thanks
  14. lake trout or smallies, beauty lake take weeks to fish all the shorline structure, good fishing can be had anywhere
  15. it's a decent reel, if you like it buy it it won't disappoint you, i also have a revo sx and its a great little reel for the cash it has one of the fastest spools i've ever seen (it's quicker than my curado's or chronarch's)
  16. we got hammered as well cliff, there was 28 trees down mostly across the roads in thurstonia (and of course hydro wires) no damage to my property other than a loose mail box, but have heard it may be 10 pm tonight before full restoration
  17. Cliff it may be in the set-up, sounds like you have the right prop if your wot rpms are correct. Have a 40 hp merc on shawns 16ft lund it gets up and planes perfect, Read this it may be a pad adjustment needed. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/basicsetup.htm also may have to wait out the break in period most 4 strokes really start working good once they get a few hours on them
  18. I love frog fishing, hook ups can be an issue at times, as for colour i use greens, yellows and white I don't think colour is a huge issue for frog fishing to some it matters, the biggest thing with frogs is most people fish em to fast , twitch twitch pause hold on. good luck
  19. ahh thats going on the list now, damn i need a second job
  20. Wow for once I agree with PHOTOZ I have many shimano reels and havn't really had any problems with them, even my lowley sahara gets the snot worked out of it and never gives up. once or twice a year I clean them with reel magic and i feel confident in there performance, same with rods never had an issue, broke a compre once and had it back in two weeks. shimano excells in customer service, i have 7 shimano spinning right now- sedona, sahara, symmetry, stradic and stella and have no issues with any of them just clean and fish, baitcasters the same chronarchs and curado no issues
  21. I visited some north kawartha lakes over the weekend, lots of smaller fish couple good sized ones as well and watermelon senkos were the ticket as well on wacky rigging. Lake trout were rather uncooperative though managed 4 in the boat over two different lakes biggest in the 5 lb range
  22. would love that on the boat but still saving ny pennies for a hds unit first
  23. You can send it to shimano directly in peterborough but it sounds like regular wear and tear to me, time to upgrade
  24. my 141c quit after 6 weeks of use, great little unit for the $$$ but again I am afraid it's the getting what I paid for, next one will be a lowrance hds
  25. what he said been in there many times great little lake
